I don't think the US Government get involved in Football League transfer dealings.ferrarilover wrote: The US Government refused to acknowledge the existence of the SR-71 Blackbird until 1997, doesn't mean they didn't exist before then.

He's a football fan and immersed in the world of football. We all become industry experts in our chosen line of work. I know of some truly, frighteningly obscure pieces of legislation that people outside the law couldn't even imagine.
Thing with football is that, unlike most professions, you're surrounded by millions of laymen who consider themselves expert.

Shane, true, but that's the beauty of analogies, they don't have to be directly related to the initial subject.

Well quite. And the more obscure the better.ferrarilover wrote:

In point of fact, I don't actually think you're wrong, I actually think we have more chance of getting Benny Boy back here between the sticks, but it was fun to answer your unanswerable question.

I answered it. Agreement before the deal is signed and sealed and it wouldn't be the first time. It's quite common in Europe and has been creeping into this country in recent years.

It wasn't intended to be 'unanswerable'. It was a simple request for information. A few people seemd happy to accept the idea, and i couldn't see how it could have transpired as suggested.ferrarilover wrote:In point of fact, I don't actually think you're wrong, I actually think we have more chance of getting Benny Boy back here between the sticks, but it was fun to answer your unanswerable question.

As much as I'd love this rumour to come to fruition, I just can't see it happening. I think he's pretty much nailed on to be moving to Derby. If he was to be loaned anywhere after that move, and unless Ling's got fingers in pies that we don't know about, I'd imagine he'd go back to Burton. But....who knows? In the words of David Mitchell - "Stranger things have happened, but I think only about six ever".
I have been thinking about this one and have come up with a tedious link that you could argue makes this plausable= Saul Halpin
If Derby have indeed sorted a deal for legzdins they May well have offered him to us on loan to keep good relations with us... Saul must of impressed when he did so well down their and either this could be part of a deal for him being sold now or part of a bigger plan to get him fir a decent price if he continues to show promise?!?

Reading through i can see cp gull also mentioned this. saul has been unusually quiet on twitter today... Maybe he has been busy!!!!
Our local rag (Derby Telegraph - less informative that the HE usually) says Legzdins is on the verge of signing for Derby. When Halpin netted a hat trick against Forest reserves they were drooling over him (as they do over anyone that helps the Rams embarrass Forest), he was in the paper two days in a row. When asked about signing him Clough didn't rule it out from what i remember.
