£35K????? Did they seriously entertain the idea of selling him for that measly price? No wonder the fee is undisclosed. They should be hanging their heads in shame for selling Zebroski so cheaply. Why not chuck in Robertson for free as well.

If that fee is true then the club is a joke. God, even Bateson wouldn't have accepted a fee so low. Really feeling quite angry with that!

Not sure we know what the fee was yet, waiting for a poster to let me know where they got the figure from before I start being negative.

We are a disgrace! 35K!!!! The club is a joke if that sum is true, Mr Baker and the board hand your heads in shame!! 35K for Zeb is probably the best deal ever! (I realise that I am echoing over posts, but I'm feeling the same as every fan!) The 200K mark to me seemed a reasonable price for a Striker that scores goals and works hard every game! So angry with the club/board if that 35K fee is true! :@

Surely he's worth what the highest bidder is prepared to pay for him?

Doesn't matter if we think he's worth more than £35k, once he wants away, nothing we can do.

Also, no use blaming the board, their duty is to get the highest figure as much as it must rankle with them (as much as us).

Monkeyboy,

The fee of 35K was reported in the Bristol Evening Post and they don't usually post concrete information on a transfer unless they are 100% sure it's correct.

Also, as a % goes to Wycombe, smaller fee now might mean in the long run, less goes to them.

Article mentions a variety of add on deals so presumably, Wycombe wouldnt get any of that.

So, possibly a lower initial fee to gain a greater long term share.

He wanted away once Buckle tapped him up. The board should just have stayed resolute. They may have well turned £35k down and risked losing him for free next year after another year out of him but £35k is so miniscule compared to what it would cost to replace him that they may well have just done it

Now any player at our club who is under contract can say they want a transfer and the board will let them go cheaply. How little would they let O'Kane go for?

If they had circulated his name to other clubs and placed him on the transfer list, then the club are doing right by Zebroski. They are not doing right by TUFC by selling him for peanuts.

Even Bristol Rovers fans are describing our board as a bunch of wet blankets! Pathetic, easily trodden-over fools is what they are coming across as.

The club need to come out and tell us what is going on. They know the 35k mark banging around would have this reaction. If numpte is correct (he makes a good point) then let us know - otherwise Plainmoor will be even more empty through people boycotting due to what is seen as incompetence.

Ok, I know this is childish but I noticed that the link that the Gas fans posted had some analytics code in it (essentially saying that the visitor came from Twitter - dunno why). So before I went I changed the link to:

http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/Bristol- ... story.html?utm_source=torquayfans&utm_medium=stopstealingourplayersyoubrizzlebastards

So when they get around to looking at their analytics, they'll see this listed in their "sources".

See, I told you it was childish

Is it really true that he's only worth what someone will pay for him? In fact, he's more realistically worth what we would accept for him. Nobody foced us to sell him to Bristol Rovers. We should have had a figure in mind, and until they met it, told them to sod off. £35k is such a measly figure, surely our board know enough to think him worth more than that? If it meant having an unhappy player, tough. He had a contract with us, and should have been told to knuckle down until our valuation was met. I'd rather he walked away for nothing next summer, than to be made to look stupid by Buckle yet again. He made a show of us by sorting his next career move whilst our season was still going on. He's done it since in the transfer market, and yet again today. How many more times? He must be sat in his office this very second laughing his head off.
