Personally I really hope the Herald Express doesn't bother! The "damage" has been done and any words of "gratitude" would come across as hollow and insincere now.
Same, wouldn't achieve anything just saying if he was talking to a predominantly Torquay based paper or audience i think the interview or words would be very different. Or at least i'd hope they would, maybe i'm now thinking too much of Zebs intelligence!
Time to move on and hopefully we get a signing or two in the enxt day or so to change this atmosphere on here which is understandably a bit down at the moment
i know Zeb hasn't directly bad mouthed us as such, but when you compare it to the way Branno handled himself, with dignity, respect and praise for TUFC, the two are a million miles apart. Branno will always be welcome at plainmoor as far as i, and many others are concerned, but Zeb has let himself down. clearly he's spent too much time with buckle.
of course as a rovers fan you want to hear him say those things, but all he had to say was "i've had a great time at Torquay, the club and fans have been great, but this was an opportunity i couldn't turn down". it's not that difficult.
Fair points. Branston has been around the block a few times and has had more clubs than Tiger Woods, he should have mastered the art of the departing speech by now!
Zebs was class...no doubt about it. Magnificent workrate.. but am sure I read on here that someone saw him in MCR after the POF and he said he wasn't going anywhere...???
It takes a certain type of manager to handle Zebs and I think he is best gone to be honest.
The player is a match winner on his day, but a potential liability on his night.
Apparently Buckle can handle him, altough it is doubtfall considering the front pages he made as well as the back pages during his time at Torquay
....but Bristol City centre bright lights are even brighter than Plymouth's so I hope he takes a security guard (Not pickle) with him when he goes out!.....I can see this one all ending in tears

That'll be me. Friend of mine met Zebs out in Manc on the Saturday night and he categorically said he'd be staying (and another poster on here actually saw him as well and he said exactly the same to him). In fairness, there's not much else he could've said in the circumstance, but he must've had an inkling he'd be going!

is Zebs really that much of a liability on a night out??? i reckon he might have learnt by now

He can't stay with daddy Paul to hold his hand for ever, and buckle will leave Rovers after their first promotion this year or next and zebs won't ever play higher than league 1 due to fundamental flaws in his game. You know our ex.players will score against us. Unwritten law that you must score against your old club it seems at times!
Yeah it always seems to happen to us our old players scoring against us.
Im for one is excited but nervious about our away game to rovers. Like everyone i really want to see us take Bucks smug smile off his face.
Would love to see the New Lings Torquay United hammer Buckles Old United but new Torquay Rovers.
To me it really feels that Rovers are turning into our main rivals. Obviously Plymouth will this season being down the road but we have more against Buckle and co now. Easy 6 points?
Easy 6 points against Rovers? Not a chance. It pains me to say it but PB has done well and built a very good squad for L2. I see today he's signed Joe Anyinsah - easily good enough for this level, I'd imagine.
I'm absolutely buzzing for the game on August 13th, but by the same token I'm a bit nervous as it's clear that at the moment they have a much stronger side.

It was a joke, like you im worried by the squad they are putting together up there. I can really see Rovers and Rotherham both being very stong. My money is on rotherham this season. With Le Fondre and Holroyd upfront that is a massive amount of goals. Pringle in the centre of their midfield, he showed his class with his loan to us.
Im just hoping my Ling can add the right players and we will give that game in bristol a good go.
The thread is a load of nonsense to be honest. Zebroski does not give a flying **** about Torquay and neither does Buckle. Just get over it.
The bottom line is that whatever you think about his off field issues Zebroski gave his all on the pitch for Torquay.
And thats the sum total of it.
I see Stockport have bid £50,000 for Jamie Vardy, how can they afford that? If i was Torquay manager, he'd be the first person I'd go for, perfect replacement for Zebroski.
