The latest Bruce Willis offering, starring Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, Richard Dreyfuss and the everlasting Ernest Borgnine.

Retired CIA agents being hunted down and fighting back.

Some hilarious moments and a classic performance from Malkovich, he had me laughing all the way through, brilliant acting.

Well worth watching, typical Willis role but made all the better by the supporting cast, a film I really enjoyed.

Dear John... Girls, this is a sickly, rubbish, predictable tale with no storyline to speak of. Loved it and wept buckets!!!!


Marty went to see Paranormal Activity 2 last night, but didn't seem too spooked so would imagine it's not very disturbing.

I watched "The Game" with Michael Douglas. The idea behind the film seemed like a brilliant idea (almost bordering on The Prisoner tv show). However I think they spent all the money on the 1 known actor and forgot to spend any money on a decent storyline, script, other decent actors and a production crew.

It was shocking, but stupidly I thought it had to get better, so I watched it until the end, and even then it was like the film didin't actually happen.

Last time I went to the cinema was to see Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakual :Oops:
Am very much looking forward to Pirates of the Carribean 4 and The Hobbit.
I have vouchers for the odeon but we're a one screen cinema city so it's a long wait until something good comes on :x

Green Zone, Matt Damon plays Chief Miller, Great Film!

A little gem called "Offside" that was on Film4 the other night and I recorded (and have seen before). It's about an Iranian woman who is desperate to watch a World Cup qualifier in a society where only men are allowed to attend football matches. I'm not sure if it's 90 minutes long, but it feels as though we are in real time, a bit like that Zinedine Zidane film.

Not one for 'the pictures' usually on account of dozing off and missing most of the film- cheaper to sleep in the armchair.

Anyhow, just seen Les Mis and Lincoln and stayed awake through both - this is a very good sign.

Both are well worth a punt on the big screen when you get a chance.

At the movies, it was Bond (I think). Great film, but not a great Bond film.

At home, I watched a bunch of different movies for a module of my degree (yes, I know, watching TV to earn a degree in law is daft, but there we are) and the last notable thing I viewed was Kind Hearts and Coronets, an absolutely sublime black and white affair about a man prosecuted for the one murder in ten featured in the film that he did not actually commit. Superbly acted, hysterically funny in parts and with a genuine twist at the end. Bonus points for spotting the cameo by Captain Mainwaring)

Madagascar 3, for the little one. Over the moon when after 45 minutes she said she was bored and wanted to go home.

Just before this screening we were both treated to another film. It lasted for ages and was called, 'adverts and trailers'.

Two to mention, both on the telly (Sky, not terrestrial)
Warhorse. Utter bilge, quite possibly one of the corniest films I have ever seen. A horse gets into all sorts of adventure and saves its best mate by volunteering to pull a cannon when his mate starts to faulter. Save yourself two hours of your life and take the dog out instead.

On the other hand The Debt starring Helen Mirren and Sam Worthington is excellent, set around the story of Mossad agents tracking down Nazis after WW2. Best film I've watched in ages and we only watched it because there was bugger all else on!

Agreed Steve. Christian Bale added a new dimension and a modern feel to the character well aided by Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman.

I don't watch rubbish. Haven't seen a new movie in almost a decade..!! Master and Commander, as I remember.. No, I tell a lie, it was Hero, an excellent Chinese martial arts film, far superior to the Kill Bill garbage from TinTin Quarantino..

I'm going to see Tinkerbell and the Secret of the Wings on saturday morning with the little 'un. Can't f*cking wait!

The only good thing is that i can shove the equivalent of a years supply of potatoes down my neck in sweets!

They'd better have some cherry lips or at the very least some fizzy cherry cola bottles or someone's gonna get a good hiding!
