Martinez and Wigan
Is this the year Wigan are to be relegated? I was discussing this with a colleague and we were laughing about the strikers they have. Martinez is an accomplished manager and i like him and his philosophy but LOOK at his main strikers - CONNOR SAMMON , firstly who? secondly has never scored a PL goal and is never going to. He is like Muffin the mule but with less hair. How the hell he is a main striker in a premier league team astounds me. HUGO RODALLEGA - we keep hearing clubs linke with him and how dangerous he is. Really? HE never scores either and shouldn't be anywhere near the Prem. Yes he is a goalscorer and a decent player but for someone like Ipswich. VICTOR MOSES - i like Victor and he does have talent but he hardly ever scores either. I'd rather have the three little pigs than those three seriously. This is where Martinez infuriates me as he is clearly quite an intelligent man. Wigan don't score enough goals and that is NOT going to suddenly improve with those three playing is it? Even players like Marlon Harewood or Marlon King would be more dangerous. Give me Grant Holt and Steve Morrison or Danny Graham and Scott Sinclair any day of the week. THEY KNOW WHERE THE BACK OF THE NET IS ROBERT BECAUSE THEY ARE NATURAL GOALSCORERS! Its not a rant as i am indifferent to the fortunes of Wigan but if anyone can see the problems he has in the striking department why can't Martinez? CONNOR SAMMON though come on, i could honestly put my hand on my heart and say that Rene would score more goals in the Wigan side than he. What a joke club!
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Born and bread in Wigan I certainly hope not, but I must agree with many of the points you make, your not yhe only one's laughing about our strikers. However yyour correct Martinez is an intelligent manager and as a team we're battle hardend and have proved we can stay in the Premier League with little strike force before. A joke club? I couldnt disagree more, we take points off big sides at home, a loyal owner who wouldn't sack Martinez and puts ultimate trust in he. Within our comparatively miniscule finances, I would say we have become an admirable club.

Its only because the other teams who have finished below Wigan in previous seasons have been absolutely atrocious. Is success finishing 4 th from bottom each year? Look at Stoke, thats the model to aim for and if Martinez hasn't got the players to fit with his footballing philosophy then he needs to mix it up a bit otherwise Wigan are going down.

Did you say you're a Torquay fan Smithys? Doesn't sound like it mate! It sounds like your allegiances lie elsewhere and not Plainmoor my friend.

Please tell me you're not genuinely asking that question Andy... He's quite blatantly a Wigan fan....austrianandygull wrote:
