40 points by Jan 3rd ...
Enjoyed the GullPlayer highlights last evening, I'm afraid that they need to get much more ruthless in front of goal .. I think this will start with Walsall on Saturday - expect 4-1 or thereabouts.
The next 6 league games look challenging, but with a new unbeaten run well underway, the lads can easily get to 40pts by Jan 3, this should have us close to the automatic promotion spots.
After a glass of wine with my Thanksgiving chilli - this is how it is looking from Wisconsin....
Saturday, 11 December 2010 Chesterfield v Torquay, 15:00 1-2
Saturday, 18 December 2010 Torquay v Rotherham, 15:00 1-1
Sunday, 26 December 2010 Torquay v Cheltenham, 15:00 3-3
Tuesday, 28 December 2010 Bury v Torquay, 15:00 0-2
Saturday, 1 January 2011 Hereford v Torquay, 15:00 1-1
Monday, 3 January 2011 Torquay v Oxford Utd, 15:00 3-2

Hmm.
I'm just focused on surpassing the 50 point mark first. January could be an awful month if we lose a couple of players, which could easily happen.

Yeah, thought the same. With only two home games in November we have a "glut" of home games before New Year.Fletch wrote:You forgot home to Burton on the 4th Dec
With the colder temperatures, Christmas on the horizon and lack of spending power among unemployed Gulls fans, then I don't foresee an improvement in attendances, although, like the Board, I am hopeful of it being so.
Priorities come first : food, accommodation.
For the professional social drinker and unemployed Gulls fan who suddenly finds theirself lacking in disposable income, it is akin to a career ending amputation for the professional athlete.
There's a better way of putting that.

Well Mr Cheesey 40 points eh, that would be nice, so long it doesn't mean a nasty "down with the Christmas decorations" situation.
Madison should be twinned with Torquay I reckon, both superb places.

42 points for me from that lot.
Three wins and a draw at home = 10 points
One defeat,a draw and a win away = 4 points
28 + 14 = 42 points
Position in table : third

From only two games at home in November we now get five home games in five weeks starting with Burton on Saturday and ending with Carlisle on January 8th. In amongst the sequence are crucial away fixtures against Chesterfield and Bury and not forgetting what could be a tricky game at Hereford.
Getting maximum points at home is vital but I ll be happy with 10 points out of 12 and edging past Carlisle and into the 4th Round. I ll be delighted if we get more than 5 points from the away games but think we ll only get 4.
I don t see attendances going over the 2500 mark except maybe for the holiday games and possibly the cup tie. Christmas, New Year bills, unemployed Gulls fans, cold weather etc are reasons why the gates won t improve. There s hope that the team will go on a hell of a run and gates pick up. As it happens, they ARE on a hell of a run and attendances HAVEN T picked up.
Any money from the cup run is looking more and more crucial by each game. One game at a time is the parlance, starting with AFC Bournemouth Reserves at Fortress Plainmoor tomorrow, kick off 2pm.

What do we do with MG? Seems like he couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo before the season started - his 2nd term has not worked out as I thought it might....
