Smilies and quote/multi quotes : am using a first class 10 and a bit incher(netbook) with auto spell and on full editor,not quick reply. With the box open and cursor flashing(there was a better way of putting that) go to quote on a post,click and up it comes. Same with smilies. Click preview and proofread then click submit. Tutor at evening class showed me how and how to write offline on microsoft word then to copy and paste and also how to post links.

I don't know how to do avatars or pictures yet.

Today s moan/diatribe : Stewards, Bar Stewards and Doorstaff.

Bouncers are what I grew up with and never had a problem with them. Back in the day, some (most) were boxers, wrestlers, street fighters and bar room brawlers, some(most) with criminal convictions for violence who dressed up in nice suits and bow ties. They looked like bouncers, they were bouncers and there were no arm locks and out the door, it was knock – out blows and the limp body dragged out and dumped on the street. When it got to that stage you asked for it and deserved it. Scotch Club Ellacombe and Compass Club Strand ring any bells ? The Police back in the day were robust too.

Now back to Stewards, Bar Stewards and Doorstaff. Bouncers they are not. Bouncers back in the day didn t have their fists tied by the f in elf & safety of political correctness. Real common sense Health & Safety gets my vote everytime. Somehow an old fashioned Bouncer that lays a customer spark out on the deck then proceeds to be the good Samaritan and puts them in the recovery position with the airway clear just doesn t seem to sit right and is akin to a teenager killing their parents and then pleading mercy on account that they ve recently become an orphan.

The Stewards at Plainmoor. Some like to think they are Bouncers. NO YOU ARE EFFIN NOT. The deadly nipple tweaker of Southampton is a Bouncer, oops, an Administrator and Bouncer(retired) who now tweaks nipples as a retirement pastime. An SIA card does not make a Steward a streetwise common sense approach Ejection Technician (Bouncer). It does however prove you to be a brainwashed sad b stad who is duped and willing to implement and carry out nonsense policy. Bigger fool you and when some real nasty b stad takes offence at trivialities then easy money for being a dick become history.

So what are the trivialities that can cause flashpoints, ejections, arrests and banning orders ? Not being seated when ordered (?) ? Filming live matchplay action ? Standing on the yellow painted sections ? Going to the perimeter wall occasionally to banter with the Lino (question his parentage, call him a female sex organ, offer your view to his lack of testicles). Banging on an on with a musical instrument while standing and Lino baiting ?

Bar Stewards and Doorstaff. Bar Steward is self-explanatory with a little imagination. Doorstaff is the current name of the previous name Bouncer. Unlike their predecessors who wore smart suits and bow ties, Doorstaff wear high visibility Construction Industry PPE(Personal Protective Equipment). None of them wear the Construction Industry safety headwear(hard hat). This is because some(most) of them think they re already hard. NO YOU ARE EFFIN NOT. An SIA card in the tit pocket or worn on the sleeve like a Drill Sergeant s stripes tells everyone you re a dick one slap away from being history.

Places down the Strand/Harbourside. Never been taken aside by the smartly dressed Doorstaff(no Constuction Industry PPE) of the Green Room and refused entry on account of wearing Army polish shine PPE footwear. It s reassuring to know you ve got the magic slippers on you to deal with any aggressive arsehole/pisshead who feels lucky. A bit of swift movement, stance work/dancing, strike or two below the knee and the perp lies broken on the deck while you walk off into the night. Doorstaff at the Green Ginger/London Inn don t see things this way. They don t see shined shoes and a peaceful well behaved customer; they see a back in the day Skinhead out for trouble. :twisted:

What follows is more than a rant/moan, it s a declaration of intent : hoodies, the neighbourhoodies, the hood neighbour, the hood in the neighbourhood and the hoodbrother (not to be confused with the Brotherhood) be advised. Also 'The War of The Worlds' (1953 starring Gene Barry and Ann Robinson) and (although I'm not a Bond fan they do seem as though they should be untouchable) Casino Royale.
