New Signing - Ryan Jarvis --- Merged Thread
Yup, totally agree with that Tattoo!! Reckon he's done more than enough to earn an extended contract with us. Work rate has been excellent and given 110% at any given opportunity he's been given.
Offers on the table so it's down to him now!!...

We should be ok . Jarvis will sign for us cause the only other offers he will get will be from the likes of Tiverton. Basically missed two open goals in the first leg of the play offs and did bugger all in the second leg. The fact that he hit the bar against Cheltenham doesn't actually mean anything - he was two yards out and it was harder to miss than score.
Still he is better than Mcphee and Macklin. Why are these two clowns still under contract?

Evening folks. Walsall fan here.
Hope Jarvo does well for you next season. Other than Bournemouth away when he scored both our goals (one a penalty) he was woeful, to be honest. Our manager Dean Smith was Martin Ling's assistant at Orient and Deano kept on saying there is a good player in Jarvo and he will come good. We never saw it. He just faded from the first team scene and it was best for the player and club for him to leave.

Welcome back Saddo, long time no see.
Thanks for thoughts on Jarvo. He is glacially slow, but I like him and seems like he'll do well at our level. We all have players who don't quite make it for whatever reason, then a move makes all the difference. Muzzy Carayol was a poor Conference player when we had him, now Rovers are turning down "six figure" offers left, right and centre.
What happened this season to your lot, respectable goal difference, no points, seems odd.
Matt.

Hi Ferrarilover.
Yes been a while since I been on here  Thought when we signed Ryan Jarvis he'd do well for us and the fans were patient with him (to start with) but for whatever reason it never happened for him at Bescot. Another poor season for The Saddlers. Think we only won 9 games all season and drew 20 (club record) Scoring goals was a problem, nobody made double figures. Two seasons of struggle and the fans are hoping for better things next term.
Was hoping Torquay would make it to League One to have played you again.

That'll be what has kept your GD up but your points down then, sounds like you could have done with RJ up top to get you a few more goals...

Good news that. I'm glad he's signed, it means we'll regularly have a striker playing as a striker or a right footed player on the right wing. It shows that Lingy doesn't just want players on their opposite foot!

Happy enough with this. Not going to be the most spectacular, eye catching player but seems to be the definition of good honest pro.
I think the best thing is the difference between this time last year. Bear in mind twelve months ago Buckle was winding down all our key players contracts, whilst thumbing through the A-Z of Bristol. This season we've had the same outcome, but we've got most of our key players locked down (or at worst with contract offers on the table) and Lingy is already making moves for players.

Right again - Jarvis signed. No doubt we have beaten off competition from the likes of Tiverton and Witheridge for his services.
He is a bit like an Atieno without the pace and likely to score less goals. With a rosta of Yeoman,Jarvis and Howe lets all pray that Howe stays fit or we will actually have to play one of the other two!

Should we all listen to brucie's predictions. He was on the money in the season just gone.brucie wrote:Right again - Jarvis signed. No doubt we have beaten off competition from the likes of Tiverton and Witheridge for his services.

Happy with this, he's a good player and sometimes looks like a great player. Good enough for me

I guess you have changed the opinion of him that you had on page three of this thread then....brucie wrote:Right again - Jarvis signed. No doubt we have beaten off competition from the likes of Tiverton and Witheridge for his services.
