Was announced last night, that Rushden and Diamonds first team goalkeeper has died at the age of 24! :( Way to young for any person to die.
Thoughts go to friends, family and rdfc.

Very, very sad that someone so young and in his dream profession was so unhappy as to take his own life. RIP

It is noted the Daily Mirror article was written in May of this year. Below is a link from an up-to-date report.

Sads news that a young professional footballer has died in tragic circumstances. All immediate condolences should go to the family, friends and team mates of Dale Roberts and not, at this time, as anger outrage in the direction of Paul Terry. The full facts will emerge in their own time.

Paul Terry was released by R&D at the end of the 2009/10 season and is currently at Darlington.

My opinion of the Terry brothers behaviour cannot be posted on here as people under the age of 18 visit this site.

Sad news indeed.

Of course, the cause of death hasn't been confirmed at this time so it would be dangerous to suggest that he has taken his own life - or that it had anything to do with the actions of Paul Terry - before the full facts are released, regardless of any rumour or how it may appear from the reports.

Regardless, its a terribly sad loss especially at this time of year. RIP Dale

The Rushden Chairman said that it was suicide on Sky Sports News earlier today, but of course you're right - there's no evidence to say what was in his head to make him do it. Just an awful, awful story.

He was a rock in goal for me in football manager actually! This really is sad, for someone coming up to the peak of their career to take their own life is a tragedy, once a again another story that suggests how awful the Terry brothers actually are. RIP

After witnessing a suicide at the train station after crewe this season, it really puts life into perspective. Life is for living and living is what life is about.

RIP Dale, thought go to you, your family and friends.

Guys, a man has died, now is not the time to be making daft comments about the Terry brothers.

Very sad to hear this, just goes to show, no matter what you've got, posessions, money, occupation etc, all that really matters in life is the life you live. I know I'd rather be a (relatively) poor student and (relatively) happy, than even the richest footballer in the world, but unhappy.

Matt.

There are a few comments on Facebook with regards to the "Terry" brothers. I agree with Matt, not matter what a very young man has died.

I had a Muslim mate who died of a heart attack at 27. It was the worst funeral I have been to. In their religion you are considered young until yuo are at least in your mid to late 30s. If you are under that age your death is mourned but if you are an elder your life is celebrated. When we went back to the mosque because it was not a celebration there was no meat in the wake, due to the fact it is considered expensive and a luxury and only used when celebrating life of the elders.

Either way Dale's head must have been in a awful place at the time. Too young to die, RIP Dale.

It's tragic however he died.
My childhood best friend committed suicide when she was only 18. It was more upsetting than the loss of my Grandfathers who I adored and heart breaking for her family.
RIP Dale.

I don't think you have to worry about the Terry brothers Matt. I would imagine, that neither of them gives a shit!
