Joe has not performed anywhere near as we'll as he did, last season IMHO. He gets caught out so many times. Bristol Rovers spotted it straight away, yesterday, and then spent, the rest of the time, that Joe was on the pitch, targeting our right side. I think, with Joe's enforced lay off, we can give Tom C or Danny L a chance.

Yesterday was the first time I, and Im sure others, have seen Leadbitter, and whilst Im sure he's got a mistake in him, I think his pace will help. If you have that pace, you can make up for certain errors and being out of position at times.
I think a spell on the touchline might help Oastler, as its possible he's become complacent with having a guarenteed start.

I find it odd that many of you are coming out of the woodwork saying Oastler has been crap most of the season, i haven't seen the home games but i've seen all the away bar Wimbledon and Rovers and he has been one of consistently better players resulting in MOTM ratings in the top 2 or 3 from most members. All i can say is that he must be a jekyll and hyde character and be playing appallingly at home because when i've seen him he has been superb. Ok the lad made a mistake and yes, perhaps he is getting complacent combined with the fact that he is totally knackered all the time due to the amount of legwork he has to get through because of Lings negative tactics. I think it really unfair that he is getting this criticism, Rene gets sent of all the time for silly things but also innocuos things and that's the same as Joey on saturday. Why don't we have a thread dedicated to Rene saying he's gone crap and should be given a rest? If we want to be pointing the finger at someone then my favourite player Nico is a candidate. Away from home he has been atrocious most games, sluggish, slow, offering nothing as an attacking force, really shocking distribution and a shadow of last season. He isn't getting stick. I just think the lads are a bit washed out from being forced to defend all the time and maybe dropping some of them for this reason may be a good idea at this point. We need freshening up.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Andy, I really dont want it to seem like a witch hunt against Joe, as I said, in the other two games Ive seen him, he has been ok, but yesterdays half an hour was one of the worst individual performances Ive seen since the Bateson years when we signed players like Leon Hapgood.
Im sure he'll come good again, but yesterday he did not look like a professional footballer. Its not really about the red card, its about his performance. Also, Rene hasnt been sent off in almost a year, and he's bloody brilliant (although seven he wasn't at his best yestrrday).

No worries Cornish. All i can say is that at least Joey gives his all most games and he is committed. Some of the other players like Bodin and Jarvis when he comes on ought to take a leaf out of his book. So despite his limited ability i respect Joe and appreciate what he gives for the team even if i've got it wrong and he is crap. I'd rather have 10 of him than 10 of Bodin.

I really rate Joe. Yes he had an off day yesterday, but apart from Howe and Downes, so did everyone else.
He's a good attacking fullback, who does usually have a bit of pace on him. Strangely he seemed very slow yesterday. Regarding the red card, I think Ling's called it spot on again...

You bet your life he probably is. One other factor you all fail to mention is that all the team has only just started to get into their stride. We always seem to start slowly, so if most of you are comparing how he was at the middle to end of the season to how he is now. Then there is bound to be a discrepancy. it will be interesting to see how he is after Christmas to how we was last season.
Rachhi. so sorry you missed your match at the weekend. its such a shame after we did so much research to get the info. never mind. it will stand you in good stead. You could always come down with us if you can get to Bristol

Does Joe miss the Gills game tomorrow then because of his red?

Has Leadbitter now done enough to get the nod over Joe permanently do you think or do you reckon Martin will play Leadbitter in the cup game then bring on Joe later on with a view to starting him v Barnet?
