My quintessential memory of Brucie, the one that really summed him up, was a number of years ago when we were struggling at the foot of the table and playing away to the division's form side with a formidable home record (can't remember who, and it doesn't matter).
We lost, as expected.
He'd bet against us and came on here to gloat over his £25 winnings and claim that 'he told us so', like he had some special insight, when in actual fact nobody had suggested the outcome would be any different.
One of life's losers.

I see brucie has done a spot of fishing a caught a few! Chill out people - was just a tongue in cheek joke!
Let's keep the good feeling going from last night and not turn threads into slagging matches!

I feel great about last night. I don't feel "caught", as that makes Brucie seem clever in some way. He ain't, he is an idiot.Richinns wrote:I see brucie has done a spot of fishing a caught a few! Chill out people - was just a tongue in cheek joke!

I have been thinking that when Lingy is sacked or god forbid croaks it (if he has got chicken flu or some such variant), perhaps we could do worse than try and get Paul Buckle back. I mean he isn't everyones cup of tea and was a bit of an arrogant tosser but at least we actually played some good football. Look he signed some real crowd pleasers Tim Sills, Zebroski, Lee Phillips, Jody Banim and Christie.
At least we would not get knocked out of every bloody cup in the first round by shite teams. Buckles up to his old fa cup tricks again. You have to hand it to him Luton have beaten a premier league team. Fair play to him.
At least he is a winner.
Sure we beat Exeter last night (even though the corner count was something like 115 odd to 2 in their favour) but what else have we had to celebrate this season.
Basically bugger all to be fair. Dire football and boring backs to the wall defensive nonsense.
Bring back Buckle - thats what I say and lets get the smiles back on those fans faces.

I would have agreed if we had lost last night.....
perhaps putting Joe Oastler and Damon Lathrope up top and bringing Danny Stevens and Lloyd Macklin at centre-half may have solved our horrendous recent run!!

Lingy undergoing hospital tests for a possible virus-related condition and now awaiting results.
Not known whether he will be back for Cheltenham-resting at home currently.
We wish you a speedy recovery Martin.

It's goals that win matches, not corners.
