He eventually did, to judge by most match reports, winning three of their last five games after a run of four defeats, albeit too late to save them from relegation. A deflated approach by the players to the final game against Wycombe was understandable (if not acceptable) in view of the fact that they were already relegated by that time. And given what he had to work with when he came in, to overcome the air of defeatism in the camp in the time available was always going to be an almost impossible task. Who knows if the hiring of a more experienced manager would have done the trick, but the budget wasn't there and it wasn't to be. And so we look to the season ahead, and if the final few games of the last campaign are anything to go by, there is certainly cause for at least a little optimism..Burnhamgull wrote: Wasn't he supposed to motivate and inspire them to do the business in a relegation scrap this season?

Well I hope so because I have had my ST renewed by the family despite deciding not to renew it myself. :whip:
I guess I'm now fully on board for next season so I'll look forward to the rumour mill going into over drive about who we will and won't sign.

Glad to hear that Burnham, we've lost enough people on here defecting to other sides already!

I'll always support the club but I've just fallen out of love with it the past couple of years. I figured a break would perhaps do me good.
I've said it before but this year, as a perk of working away, I've been to games at other clubs and I've loved being in a crowd. Coming back to the morgue like atmosphere at Plainmoor on Saturdays has made it all seem worse.
Still, onwards and upwards

Did you get hit in the face by a 125 shirt thrown by Deano Edwards while you did it?Kit_robin wrote:Renewed my season ticket this morning. Obviously upset about the events of the last two seasons, but at the end of the day I have been a Torquay fan all my life and I can't just turn that off. No live football would leave a big hole in my Saturdays - not just for the football, but for seeing friends, family and going to a place where I feel at home.
Matt.

Renewed mine today, for pretty much the same reasons kit robin has. Doesn't matter what league tq are in, i don't have a second team, and love live footy in my weekends. I'm actually looking forward to another conference season, as stupid as i know that is. Lets hope CH can find a couple of useful players.
What made my mind up was the useless signing of f*ck*n' useless Fanny Stevens. Gave my season ticket away that day and have no intention of getting another one anytime soon.robbotufc wrote:Does not matter who stays or who goes it's a no from me for season ticket, just pick and choose my home games next season, plus another away days at Forest green and Salisbury that i enjoyed last time round
