Luke Simpson our trialists goalkeeper was a youth player at Oldham Athletic up until 2014. He then signed for Accrington Stanley and went on to make 10 appearances for them last season. He is 20 years of age.

Added in 1 minute 56 seconds:
1-0 down after just 4 minutes. 25 yard free kick. Keeper will feel he should of done better with it.

Well thanks to Newport Nitwit account i have been kept up to date with whats happening.. half time score is Torquay 1 Newport 2.
Angus McDonald for us and Scott Barrow and Scott Boden for them.
seems a reasonable match by all accounts. have we any fans there who can tell us how we are playing to give a more accurate picture?

Think we are struggling with the formation atm

Hurst looks a very good signing

Jamie and Courtney Richards have both been woeful!

Full time: Torquay 1 Newport 3. Attendance 751.

Whilst we should be expected to win against the likes of Galmpton and Dartmouth, shouldn't be too surprised at the result against a team such as Newport, given that PSF's are for chopping and changing and trying out different players during a game. At least Mr Cox will have a good idea as to what his squad will need to prepare for the first league game.

Ajala is under 23, so will be subject to a fee if goes - correct? Surprised to see him on trial at another conference club

He really showed have stayed with us!

My main concern from todays friendly is the midfield, another year of Young and Richards doesn't look good!

Someone who can breakup play and allow Young freedom is definitely needed!

Thought there was room for optimism today. Liked Hurst and thought Exodus wasn't too bad either. I saw a Torquay team put in more whole hearted tackles in this friendly against Newport today than I did the whole of last season. COYY.
