Wonder if Canada's Richie Laryea is related to our once star striker Benny ! one of Webb's awful signings.
Both of Ghanaian descent.
Can't answer that one but your comment implying a lack of footballing skill got me looking at his record. Admittedly at a (then) lower level he scored in just about every other match when at Maidenhead and was player of the season at Dundalk. He's done well since hanging up his boots, I quote:
Ben is a board member of The Guinness Partnership Limited, a member of the Health, Safety & Environmental Committee and a board member of Guinness Housing Association Limited. He has worked in the sector for over 30 years. He is Chief Executive of Ekaya Housing Association, which provides housing and support services primarily to black and ethnic minority women, their families and groups with similar needs. He has acted as an independent housing professional, supporting organisations through change and service transformation, and worked as a mentor to address the lack of diversity at senior management level within the sector. Ben is a Board Member of Dolphin Living and he sits on the Audit & Risk Committee of the Dolphin Square Foundation.

Game over at Edgley Park Lemon Evans on the bench, Stockport bring on 5 subs on the evening and Lemon still not used.
No doubt a good financial move for him, but the manager obviously does not rate him.

I see that Lucas Ness played for Charlton in their victory over Brighton in the Carabao Cup the other night - and got a 6-star rating from The Times. Not bad for a young lad who was playing in the National League a short while ago.

It wasn't that fans didn't rate him,but results and goals conceded still didn't improve,Ness started his loan period very well, the 1st few games he was solid, but it's zero reflection on him,it's hard to shine in such a bad team, and at the bottom of the NL,it's not easy at all,he was ok,nothing more than that, but throw him in with better calibre of players like he's with now, you'll see s different player entirely,so good luck to him.

He was ok,nothing special, but when you're surrounded by inferior quality all around you,it's hard to shine,1 player alone cannot get you out of the brown stuff, and the squad we have is piss poor,we've played two conference south sides this season (poor ones) and we've looked on a par with them.

On par ? Both were given a two goal lead Hampton drew 2-2 and Chippenham lost 3-2. Bathe only difference in the teams was we are full time and our superior fitness told in the last third of the matches.
If we give Taunton a two goal start, we will get beaten. Let us start on the front foot and establish a two goal (or more) lead, like we did against Aldershot.

Forget the results for s moment,Hampton and Richmond and Chippenham could probably feel bloody unlucky not to have beaten us,and if it weren't for Halstead in goal they would of,there's zero difference between them and us,and our players, are cast off missfits, who wouldn't get another NL club, even at 3-2 the other night Chippenham were unlucky, and H&R should of beaten us.I say on a par,I mean there's no difference between the two NLS teams we've played and us,I know that's stating the obvious.

You speak as though fitness is not part of the equation. You would generally expect a full time side to beat a part time side for this reason alone (even if quality is otherwise similar or even worse).

Another National League boss bites the dust... Maidstone's ex gull Hakan Hayrettin - well I remember him anyway !
Will Billy Bodin be another ex gull hero tonight ? Seems unlikely at the moment .

Yes, great to see that …. and didn’t he enjoy the moment!
It got me thinking about our former players and how good some of them were, particularly when you watch some of the FACup ties and see how so many have featured in the 3rd Round over this weekend - something that WE used to aspire to, but seem to be a long way off from seeing anytime soon given our current situation.
Anyway, I picked a team from all our former players (nearly all featured at some point) that featured in the FACup this weekend and can only dream of what might have been if we had managed to keep this squad together!!! With a bit of “poetic licence” on formation!
GK : Alex Bass (Sunderland)
DEF: Michee Efete (Grimsby)
DEF: Joe Lewis (Stockport)
DEF: Adam Smith (Bournemouth)
MID: Conor Lemonheigh-Evans (Stockport)
MID: Luke Young (Wrexham)
MID: Jason Rees (Boreham Wood)
MID: Billy Boden (Oxford)
STR: Ashley Barnes (Burnley)
STR: Sinclair Armstrong (QPR)
STR: Jamie Reid (Stevenage)
Subs
STR: Joe Quigley (Chesterfield)
STR: Tyrone Marsh (Boreham Wood)
What a team!!! OK, so quite a few of those were “only” ever loanees … but I’m pretty sure that SEVEN of that squad were OURS! If only that were the case now …..
