royalgull wrote:Sitts is a cab driver, the youtube interview is class. He got shafted by that programme, there is far worse said in football clubs than what he said in all honesty. England left back with 100 caps shot a youth team player with an airgun and just carries on, i'd say that's worse than calling an underperforming player a Stephen Hunt.
But his whole approach was Neanderthal. He was like a local football manager who thinks all managers need to do is shout a lot and that 'motivating' the lads is all that is needed.
A manager needs nous as well as commanding respect. Shouting all the time gains nobody any respect if there is no credibility to back it up. Paul Compton another example of the 'all I do is shout because I have no tactical brain' brigade.

I don't want John Sitton purely for the fact that I've never even heard of him!!

Wow, a quick wikipedia check is interesting. Sounds like John Sitton is just the man we need!
*Warning* - If you don't like the 'C' word that sounds like 'Punt', I'd highly suggest not reading it.

wasn't saying Sitts should be our new manager but just that he isn't as bad as the documentary made him out to be. That is all.

And what doyou base that on? His record? That was shocking, hence his sacking. If he was still doing it, he is not any better than your average South Dvon League manager with delusions of grandeur.

Rumours abound on Twitter that people think they know what is wrong with Lingy. Also saying he won't be back short or long term. Any truth to it or just the rumour mill working overtime again?

I've just seen them too, no mention of what it is but it doesn't sound good!

Regardless as to what is wrong with Lingy - and you would be a fool to think its other than something serious - now is the time to rally round.
For us TUFC fans its nothing new, but for Martin it probably is.
Get well soon boss ...

Best wishes to Martin Ling, however it appears he will not be returning as manager at any time in the future.

I just felt compelled to post as all this 'news' regarding Martin is quite disturbing and upsetting and i think we should just concentrate on footballing matters and let him and his family in peace. Everything is just rumours and i haven't seen what these rumours are but whether they are true or untrue it is irrelevant. Fine, spread rumours about footballing issues but doing so by effectively guessing a persons illness is crass and totally insensitive. Obviously these are on twitter but i'd hate to see any tittle tattle about it appearing on here. I still read the site every day even if i don't really post anymore. I'd firstly like to take this opportunity to say how saddened i am about the whole situation and how much i would like Martin to get better as soon as possible. If anybody knows of anyway i can send a message of support then i would be grateful to know. I don't know if anyone has done so or has planned anything but i would very much like to be involved if it is appropriate.
I've got to say that the support for Martin on here has been so vocal and it is heartening to know that our club have some really salt of the earth supporters. I dare say that if it had been some other clubs there would no doubt be some nasty posts.
Credit to you all.
