Makes sense. Young manager Torquay link, out of work. Wouldn't have been my choice but better than a lot of current out of work managers.

Yes am aware of this, however dont you find it strange that Rovers fans did not point out lennie Lawro as the guiding hand untill after the wheels fell off...footie fans we are so fickle

Seems to be out of the question from what I've just been told.

His garden leave lasts another year and he's already turned down Port Vale so highly unlikely to come to us with what we can offer.

Hasn't this really just been a idea pushed out by those with a vested interest in Rovers - they want him gone off the wage book.

I must admit my own suspicion was that Rovers would have somehow tried to push him our way to get him off their hands. I cant see him coming to us after turning down Port Vale though.

A dangerous strategy if he (Trollope) thinks he will be able to pick and choose a managerial job that suits him at a time that also suits him! Quite honestly if he waits another year before he starts looking again he will probably have been forgotten by then!!!!

Not being funny, but he's hardly Martin O'Neill is he????

Don't worry it took me two visits to untangle the anagram. Heard a few interviews on local radio when he was at Rovers and I'm not convinced he is the man to pitch the advantages of upping sticks and moving to the Bay to ply their trade to professional footballers.
We do need a safe pair of hands more than anything in these troubled times so his experience should help there but hopefully there are safer hands lurking.
Whoever gets the job will get my full backing for what that's worth but I hope the Club are in a position to consider a range of applicants
