I spoke to Branston yesterday at Occombe farm. He loves the club and area, but is waiting to see who manager is 1st, and if he will be offered a contract by ourselves. He did say he`d turned down an offer from Rovers. But he said he has had other offers...i said Shrewsbury? he just smiled !
So i suggest we get a manager in place 2moz, and sign up Branston within minutes !!!!!!

Well at least someone's hanging around to see who it is then eh? Shame Stanley and Robinson didn't...

Perhaps change the thread title? Shat my pants when I saw this.

He's a professional footballer knocking about the lower leagues. To be honest, I don't begrudge him trying to squeeze a few extra quid out (as well a signing-on fee, potentially) especially since this would probably be his last contract. I like him a lot but getting the hump because he's keep his options open is silly.
To me, Guy Branston is a credit to his profession - always gives 100% on the pitch, doesn't get into trouble off it (at least, not that I've heard) and despite his failings - and he has them - he's been a key part of our side recently. I can't really get annoyed at him if he does move on, especially since he was ready to sign a deal back in January but it wasn't offered (although you do start to wonder if that came from the board or Buckle...)
Finally - entirely unrelated - let's stop calling our former manager 'Bucks'. It was okay when he was the manager and we were all on the same team (as it were) but it just looks lame now.
I prefer to refer to him using his official name: Paul "I've-always-said-I'm-an-ambitious-man-so-I-have-to-crap-on-you-from-a-great-height-to-get-what-I-want-I-will" Buckle.

I really like the fact that we get our latest facts on the future of Torquay United from a beer festival.

Gutted I went on Friday and didn't see him there
Though according the Herald Express Facebook he's now being linked to Bradford.

Gone to Bradford - just announced on their official website.
Decks cleared, now for the manager to completely overhaul the squad!
Best of luck to him - going to be a bloody hard job to sort this mess out...

Another one bites the dust. Hope the new manager has some targets and is a fast worker.

Perhaps the new manager was not to his liking?
At least he's not gone to Rovers!
Seriously though, not the best news. But looking for a positive here. Branston said he would wait for the new manager so can we assume that we now have a manager?

Guesses for when we'll work out he's left?
My guess is we'll name him in the team on the opening day, only to wonder why he's not turned up at the ground.

One of the other threads says 5 today we might hear something so the players probably already know. Obviously not someone Branno wanted to work with!!

And then be deducted a point for naming an unregistered player in the match squad..

That would be my guess too.
I would imagine he has been given a fair idea who is "in the frame" and decided he's OUT.
Really worrying news as we seem to be in the process of losing the spine of the team that took us to the Play Off Final .... Bevan, Brano, Stanley and most likely Zebs. Whichever way you look at it a pretty major rebuild job is needed and the new Manager will really need to hit the ground running. Let's hope he has a good contacts book .... 'cos he''ll need it!
