It's one of those games where you would expect us to win at home and visa versa. I think one goal will settle this so going 1-0 with Jarvis to score.

How bad has the weather been? Looking outside my hotel room in Orlando, it's nice and sunny, might even get to top off my tan later!!! (Sorry, couldn't resist!)
Na, na na, NA NA NA NA, NA NA NA NA, TORQUAY!

No need to make a rushed decision regarding the pitch though - should clear up come weekend. :keepie:
The first half of this definitely needs the sarcasm smilie added.

Matt,

I think you are being a bit hasty. Watched them v Southend when i was on holiday earlier in the season and they play some good stuff under their new manager.

will post a link if I can find it to rival forums who have played them.

No longer are they Coleman's Boot Boys

Jesus Norah, looking through their video highlights on Sky, I've never seen a luckier side than Accrington. First v Rochdale, the Dale defense were almost literally nowhere to be seen, second was a horrible error from the 'keeper. First v AFCW is a one-in-a-million deflection straight to a striker and then they manage to waste a chance from one of the worst defensive passes I have ever seen. Maybe one day, they'll score a goal of their own merit?

To give Paul Cook his due, he's managed Sligo Rovers over here for the last 5 years and they've won the cup twice and played some good football along the way. Ian Barrowclough took over from him at the start of this season and they pretty much have the league sown up (the League of Ireland season runs from March to November). He himself was a good ball player in his day so I'd expect Accrington to play decent football. Not this week with any luck though.

Interesting to hear about Ian Barrowclough - didn't know he'd got a job over the water - pleased for him that he's doing well with Sligo, he was of course heavily rumoured to have pretty much got the job at TUFC before Lingy came back off his hols and nicked it off him at the last minute! When you consider also how well Nicky Forster seems to be doing at Dover Athletic, it seems that our "short list" of candidates when Bucks left was a pretty decent one.

And the away terrace is closed, as some on here suggested.

I have just rung the club and they are virtualy 99% certain it will be on. They sent an email to the club chef so he can prepare he grub. (Thats who I got throught to) I asked him to cook up a game plan for us.
But was also advised to check the OS tomorow morning as heavy storms are forecast for tonite.
He doesn't know if the away terrace although closed for away fans will be turned over to our lot tomorow though.

http://www.torquayunited.com/news/artic ... 22522.aspx Confirmed that the away terrace is closed. I'm glad were doing this to teams after years of it being done to us! And gets a few more ££ in with the seating being a couple quid more expensive.

Don't know how I feel about the away end being closed. I understand its done to save money, but how is that happening? As a shots fan pointed out on their forum, there was a shot to steward ratio of about 6:1! Its only cost effective if you send some stewards home when they're not needed. Also it affects the atmosphere, Tuesday was amazing, but would have been better with someone closer to sing at when we scored the ridiculous fourth goal!
Hopefully even with just a few, Stanley should sing back at us, even from the far reaches of the bench.
I can't wait to get back into Plainmoor, I'l cry if Saturdays not on. :'(

I take some of that back, didn't consider that we could charge more for seats until Alex said it! I'm no Alan Sugar.

Seems a bit of a liberty from the club (I know, unusual that I'm not on the club's side, but think they may have got this one wrong). Surely, if we are forcing them to go in the Bench, which is fine, we ought to be charging them the away terrace price, since we are forcing them to sit in the seats and not have the cheaper option? That's like getting all the way to the airport, then finding that there are only first class seats left on the jet when all you wanted was a normal business class seat.

Why? When weve been away and been forced in to the seating area instead of a terrace weve had to pay the extra couple of quid...For example a few years ago at Macclesfield they only gave us the seating which was £2 more than the terrace. We didnt get offered to go in at the lesser price because we were hoping for the terrace. Its life. And to be fair I dont see the need to open the terrace up for a team like Accrington who will bring there usual 60 or so fans. I would say that the stewards need to be more lenient though. Didnt they chuck out some Aldershot fans for standing up? Its those type of stewards everyone hates.
