Hi Andy. I got "Chub" from the text, "Stanley keeper Rachubka seeing red ". Does this mean there are still 4 to find ? I appreciate your efforts to make the matchday threads interesting, funny and informative. I am going to read it again to try and find thoose pesky fish, but I have to admit I am struggling...

Really hope the match isn't called off. It's what I look forward to most at christmas.

To be fair mate obviously a Chub is a fish but i didn't include it as it was part of a players name but i suppose i could have done. Sorry for being misleading. Let me know all the names you have ( except Chub ) and i'll let you know how many are right and how many you've got left ok? :-D

Well two of them made a passing reference to that and one of them is a Torquay fan - although I know him the clue is in the 'gull' bit in his username (those things that used to eat fish before they discovered discarded takeaways). ;-)

It has been dry most of the day in Iybridge (10 miles from Home Park) but it is forecast for a lot of rain in the 45 hours or so before the game and with the amount of water already in the ground I think it will be touch and go as to whether it goes ahead - Argyle's pitch does tend to stand up to a deluge better than ours mind so I would put it about a 70-30 chance of being on.

Let's hope so, and let's hope if it does go ahead the better part of our Jekyll and Hyde team turn up!

Thanks Stef.

Just seen Dan Sullivan has been called up from the youth to fill a space on the bench. I know he's scored a hatful of goals for the kiddies this term, but that's about it. Can Supergulls tell us anything more useful?

Matt.

Dan Sullivan is the sort of footballer who "reads a game" really well. More skill than power. Hard worker and determined.

Anyway back to the fish! I have flounder, sardine, dace, minnow, dab, perch, plaice, shark, coley, ray. Does "roe" count from Nicky Wroe or is that just fish eggs?!
Sorry folks I just can't leave it alone.

Not seen anything of Sullivan but it would be good for him to make the bench and be around the first teamers to get some experience of it. If Yeoman is anything to go by though, he won't be getting a chance to put leather on grass in anger for the foreseeable unless we are totally desperate. I'd like to think players like Yeoman would get their opportunities because the manager considers them good enough rather than a forced selection as a result of total squad decimation.

Anyway, roe isn't on the list so you've got 5 more GLG!

Ah, GLG, do you follow the youth team too?

Glad to hear that he's a little bit more brain than brawn, he'll fit straight into the first team if he's needed.

Matt.

No rain overnight and a pleasant bright start to the day in the Plymouth area with occasional glimpses of a strange glowing object in the sky.

I would think the only chance of the game being off now is if the Mayan calendar was just a few days out! ;-)

A merry Christmas to you Forest Gull and all others who are working on Christmas Day. Done plenty of them myself in the past but am pleased that now being self-employed for the first time in my life I have control over my Christmas break.

Just got home from 3 hours walk to Western Beacon and back. It is a walk I do regularly being so close to home and I don't think I've ever seen the ground so saturated in 22 years of living here. At the moment the sun is shining with plenty of blue sky, but ominously there are very dark clouds in the distance approaching from the West.

Well thank goodness that's over for another year! ( Christmas Day )

What's the weather like down there and any doubts about the game going ahead?

Heavy rain over night in Plymouth area but dry and overcast this morning so far. It has been mainly dry for the last 3 days with a strong wind which has helped.

There is no pitch inspection and the game is definitely ON. :keepie:

To be fair when does it not rain in Plymouth? Every time I'm there it's raining and I go there loads to see friends. Can't see this game being off.
