An idea? Easy: replace the Popside bogs COMPLETELY. They are a disgrace and more than anything else indicate the value that is put upon the 'ordinary' supporter.

You're in there for 30 seconds once a fortnight. They're a perfectly ordinary set of toilets and considerably better than many I've used in the past. Honestly, the Candyman will soon be regretting his decision to come here if you and Tezza keep on.

I agree Matt, I really don't think sorting out some toilets (which could be far worse), is top of Andy Candy's list. Perhaps, you know, making this a profitable football club should come first.

Totaly agree with Matt here, Wivel chose to ingnore your attempts of late at spooning Brucie but this is one to far, this thread is here for genuine fans who want to help our club go forward, heck it gone back enough this season, if thats the best you can do, just don't bother, as long as the bogs are clean and the taps work and believe they don't at sid james who cares, and suggest you might not go because of the state of the toilets, pathetic really and you can take up watching netball might suit you more.

Mr Candy, I was suggesting a family ticket( family stand only ) not so much as promotion more as something to be put a place for the entire season. However just done a quick trawl through other clubs websites and see there are no other club doing this, so maybe there is a good reason for that.

But what I did see is clubs like Northamton do free entry to all kids under 7 in there family enclosure, and Morecambe offer free entry for kids 5-11 on there north stand, amg stand and Pmg family stand E, so wonder whether something along the lines of free entry to kids under 7 with a paying adult of course for the entire season for our family stand only would help to fill it up.

I'd usually agree Dave and to a certain extent i do but adequate toilets at football grounds are a basic human need and should be upgraded if need be. I've never had reason to visit the bogs in the popside but so long as the cubicles can be locked and they have toilet paper in them then that is all i ask a general rule and if the popside bogs have these 2 crucial elements then nothing need be done. As someone who feels a lot better knowing there are adequate bogs available should i need them then it takes away the anxiety that often causes sudden bowel movements in the first place. I know you all take the p*ss and i've got IBS so what? But wivels point is a valid one. Like i said, if they've got locks on and some sh*t roll in there then fine, leave be. It obviously won't stop me going should there not be adequate toilets but the levels of anxiety poor and inadequate toilets cause is massive for sufferers of a range of conditions and shouldn't be underestimated. Accy is the worst, i literally have to not eat anything all day until after the game, i have to o/d on imodium and then driving home i tend to consume the equivalent of an average American in calories in about 2 hours as i'm so hungry. It doesn't do my body any good and all because sh*tholes like Accrington can't be arsed to provide safe sanitary toilets for humans.

But back on topic as it should be with this, it is Andrews thread and should be used for serious issues of which i happen to think toilet facilities is one albeit not top of the agenda. IBS is a disability and the club wouldn't dream of not having anywhere for physically disabled supporters to sit and offend them so why should people with IBS related conditions be treated with discrimination however inadvertant?

Oh and i like GG's suggestion about car seats availability in the cars of travelling Gulls. It could be called 'Gulls carshare' and have a section for people to list their transport needs.

Although as I seem to have been nicknamed GG by you lot I could rethink this driving licence saga and buy a horse. I could give someone a lift behind the saddle. Not sure where I could put the horse when I get there but I am sure a bale of hay could be provided assuming the bloomin horse could manage 120 odd miles. For the Rovers game I am afraid the saddle lift will be filled in the aid of good relations. I will give a lift to the Rovers supporter called Horse. Stands to reason really doesn't it.
I know exactly where your coming from Andy with the throne room. I am not calling for heated padded seats.(oh yes i am ) Complete with attendant and pleasant smell of wafting perfume. soft toilet paper.(well at least the observer or Times) proper decorated clean walls and carpet.
But a clean toilet with hooks on the door to hang my coat would be really usefull. And then hot water and soap to wash after. Now thats what is essential for some of us.

Since this is the Candyman's thread (sort of), I feel it's important to note that he played a huge part in getting the Popside toilets improved. To be honest, I'd like to hear from an expert in such matters. Where is Trojan anyway?

This club has to become EXTRA Fan Friendly. Make everybody who comes through the turnstile feel a part of the club. Create a feel good factor that will make people want to come to Plainmoor and enjoy the OCCASION. Every staff member and steward should have this mantra in their head "I must be friendly and helpful to every supporter. I will help them in any way I can and smile as I do so "

Some stewards have been surprisingly pleasant this season but I want EVERYBODY associated with Torquay United to have this attitude to the supporters / CUSTOMERS to ensure that they want to come back !! The ticket office staff, the club shop staff, the bar staff.

Make customer service a priority !

Obviously what happens on the pitch ultimately determines how many turn up to watch the games but if each person is made to feel special and that they have an enjoyable visit then maybe the person /family who turns up occasionally may enjoy it and come back for more knowing that they are treated like valued customers and not taken for granted.

Spot on mate. We've all had a taste of poor customer relations through various situations at the Club. It should be the first thing on the mind of EVERYONE representing the Club. It's not rocket science and anyone who runs a business knows that you do whatever it takes to make the experience of your customers as pleasant as you possibly can, that is rarely the case at Plainmoor.

We need to get every aspect at the Club run as professional as possible. Ticketing, hospitality and club reporesentation needs taking to a whole new level and each little success needs building on. Promoting the Club is all that matters.

Thanks Dave and Matt for the toilet based info, i didn't know that and if they are fit for purpose then no need to do anymore and focus and attentions can be directed elsewhere within the club.

Do we not then end up with stewards with Stepford Wives smiles and grotesque, awful phrases like "have a nice day, sir" bandied about by some meathead with teardrop tattoos?
