To be honest now Ladabie and Lathrope are here McCourt can go back. He has done ok but isn't any better than what is here and some of his passing has gone off of late. Still leaves us with Craig, Mansell and Mozika.

I think that's a little unfair on McCourt. He has been receiving a load of unnecessary abuse from the Popside and in recent games (Bristol and Exeter) he has shown that he is a good midfielder. He was boo'd off one week and the game against Exeter, boo's were ringing out because he was taken off! I would be very disappointed if McCourt was to go back, I think that he has performing better than Mansell and it's a shame that McCourt will probably be the one who is dropped tomorrow.

Mansell has been very poor. McCourt given the role he had toward the end of the Rovers match, when we were pressing for a winner, excelled. Labadie, McCourt and Mozika, with Lathrope and Craig as back up. If we've had a good look at Lathrope and he's been performing as well as Hereford fans seem to think, then he ought to be pressing for a start. Let Hereford have Manse and Nicho for a month instead.

Danny, he had a terrible game against Rovers. I'm a fan of McCourt and would like to see him stay too, as I think you're right about him outperforming Mansell. I wondered if Knill tried to go with a change the fans wanted after his performance against Rovers to get them onside, but judged terribly as McCourt was, along with Bodin, one of our better players against City and got subbed!!!dannyrvtufc4life wrote:

RJC.......By the time we were pressing for a winner, McCourt had been brought off.

I like the look of that side, seems quite strong with a good number of options on the bench too. We'd just have to stop the long ball nonsense and play it on the deck, which is the preferred way to play football.

I thought that he had a better game against Rovers, an improvement of what he usually played like because he was shocking, that's just going to be a different opinion that we have on that particular game.

Re Rovers, will agree to disagree- he had been switched to be the front of the three for a good 15 minutes before being subbed and was our most effective player during that period. Before that, not so good. I agree though, that he was one of the better players v Exeter. He's plenty better than Mansell, though.

Oh, given his age, you'd have to say he has the potential to be miles better than Manse, I just think he played too many Tyrone Thompson passes(eyes closed and hooked over his head) and gave the ball away on far too many occasions. He had a good 10 minutes before he came off, I agree, he seemed to be in more of a wide right position and was crossing the ball with little other contribution.Rjc70 wrote:Re Rovers, will agree to disagree- he had been switched to be the front of the three for a good 15 minutes before being subbed and was our most effective player during that period. Mansell is a top Torquay player and with the players avbailable should figre at right back.forevertufc wrote:I don't know if this is a case of any of us would play, Shane, no doubt, there's quite a few who would leave Mansell out, that's not going to happen, so in general don't get your hopes up, unless Mansell's going to right back, and I really can't see that.
Goeff Harrop says he's tinkered with a few things and wants to take the game to Morecambe, so if he's going to continue with three in midfield, I will go for Mansell, Labadie and most likely McCourt, if it's a two man midfield, Mansell/Labadie.
