Joking aside, Chris Hargreaves is still the man for the job. We really must stick with Chris. Kelvin Thomas was Oxford chairman when Hargreaves moved there from Torquay in 2010, and CH may well have recommended him to Thea Bristow, and Thea's announcement that she is to resign at the season's end and to leave the club debt free would not have been made unless there are promising moves afoot to persuade new people to take over the club when Thea goes. And these new people would not be coming in without significant new investment, which would transform CH's playing budget for the new season, and with it the team's prospects in mounting a promotion challenge.
At the same time bring in Paul Buckle as Director of Football and there'll be no stopping us.. :~D

I would have had a chat with Chris if I was buying the club and told him by now what I expect and if no result is gained at Nuneaton both him and his assistant goes and Harrop takes over till the end of the season something has got to happen. What we should remember is that whoever had come in as manager last year, whether CH or anybody else, they would have had the same budgetary problems and, unless they were extremely lucky, the same lack of success. And lack of success, given the financial situation at Plainmoor, does not amount to failure. The impatience and frustration of fans hungry for success is understandable, but is misplaced. Calling for CH to resign or be sacked at this stage is not the answer. We must support him and the team for what is left of the season, and then see what transpires thereafter.

An Ian Atkins type of manager on a prove yourself, end of the season contract would have done the job, in my opinion.
Bringing in a Youth coach and promoting him to a League 2 manager status, on a rumoured 1 year rolling contract or 2.5 year deal was folly at the very least. Once again it has demonstrated a lack of footballing knowledge at boardroom level.
Our lack of success on the pitch was due to the lack of ambition from the board, if they have looked back on our previous relegation and had even the slightest bit of forward thinking as to how it would effect us if we, yet again lost of League status, perhaps all the applicants might have been given an interview.
There is an old saying which I firmly believe is true:
"You reep what you sow!"

I always think the 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 is a good formation
The best wing backs would be Chappel on the right and ajala on the left.
These two always track back. Chappel was further back than Dawson a couple of time in the first half v Chester
Ajala always works hard too and isn't afraid to tackle
This would mean survey young would get a attacking role in a midfield 3. This would bring the best out of him

Sorry mate, this is nonsense. We paid a very heavy price for Chris Hargreaves complete and utter lack of real contacts, had we not spent months wasting time loaning in blindly one useless striker after another who knows what would or could of happened, I fully believe that if Coulthirst had arrived a month earlier we would have stayed up, and even he didn't arrived at TUFC thanks to CH or so I'm led to believe.Gullscorer wrote:What we should remember is that whoever had come in as manager last year, whether CH or anybody else, they would have had the same budgetary problems and, unless they were extremely lucky, the same lack of success.
We also paid the price thanks to some poor decision making by CH, like Scunthorpe home, when we didn't have a designated penalty taker, after total bemusement the only player who had the guts to take it on, missed and got dogs abuse for it, no, that one game on it's own didn't relegate us, but certainly didn't help.
Like most I wanted CH to succeed, but whilst he maybe an excellent youth coach, he is not, and never will be a manager, a more experienced appointment after AK had left building would have made the world difference, we would have had a manager with proper contacts who could have called in or owed a favour or two, which could have led to us securing the services of a few player who could have dragged us out that mess, a more experienced manager would have hit the ground running, rather than trying to save a club from the drop whilst learning his trade.

Yes you are indeed talking rubbish. Having failed to save us last year Hargreaves has made a complete pigs ear of this campaign. Fifteenth place in the Conference is nothing short of pathetic.
I don't know the reason but it is clear that there is no morale in the squad. Pearce is a shadow of his former self. Hargreaves ridiculous infatuation with leaving Bowman on the pitch when he is absolute rubbish week in week out. Inanae team selections. No tactics. Players who are worse than what we already have being signed on. its a shambles. The manager has to take the blame.

Bowman despite all his failures is the ONLY person in this squad likely to score a goal and that is why he stays on the pitch. A sad indictment of the rest of the squad.

Correct. The fact he gets little if any service is why he hasn't scored more.
