I think I was reading this thread more as "what can we do to say thank you to Thea". I believe that Thea deserves a huge thank you from the fans for all the money she has given to Torquay United. It's good manners. I would like it to be something purely for a very kind lady and not muddied by other issues. This is why I suggested the flower thing. Torquay fans can show their good and appreciative side.....

Barking, bonkers, nuts, loony......I've been called all of these before. Life is more fun if you are a little bit mad !

Indeed it is goodluckgull, only if you'd have suggested waving around some pansies instead, our fan base would have gone nuts for that idea. :)

For once I totally agree with Brucie!

All Thea would want is a 'thank-you' from everyone .. not some crazy gesture.

Look at it another way ... in the time she has been involved with TUFC she has lost her beloved husband and around £3million. In return she has had a traumatic time on her own in the boardroom and a grandstand named after her late husband to remind her of everything.
Remember that she wasn't the one who got involved with TUFC, that was Paul, but she felt obliged to carry on as long as she was able as she didn't want to let him or others down.

Do you think she wants any more reminders of the nightmare that has been TUFC?

Tend to agree with Baygull. Don't think there is any need to " buy" Thea anything - after all what do you buy a lady that is (hopefully still) worth £10 million + ?????

Personally, I think a general appreciation of what she has done for the club, by way of chanting her name/ applause would mean more to her than anything else. That said, I do quite like the idea of filling Bristows Bench for the last home game against Macclesfield ~ even if it means the rest of the ground being empty! I think that would be a fitting tribute to her. :scarf:

Perhaps the Club could create a position of "Honorary Lifetime President" for Thea.

There would be no daily duties or executive/financial responsibilities, but it would create a permanent and well deserved place in the history of TUFC to always link her with what she and Paul achieved for the Club. If she wanted, perhaps the occasional ceremonial presence - in addition to her role as a "supporter".

Some sort of 'display' on the popside is a good idea.

Just turn up and support the lads?

I'll certainly make the effort to go as i'm thankfully to still have a TUFC to support and its because of her, be nice for a few popside chants too.

Maybe something like this? Man Utd and FC United do their flags similar with a consistent red black and white colour theme.

Brilliant Admiral ! A large flag just like that would be excellent.
