Wouldn't change anything, the club would still be owned by GI, who having been beaten to the Plainmoor freehold, would have absolutely no desire to run the club anymore. Barring the TUST being able to take it over, GI would just run it into the ground to escape their obligations. Plus the freehold is much better vested in a local authority than an individual due to the need to secure it over a long term basis (what would Bristow's children do with it for instance?) and the time it'd take to recoup the investment.

merse is right , The ones to stay should be young, Williams, moore, sparkes, Mcginty, verma, keating, as for the rest no way, we are in this position for a reason and we need to re build, and the management team needs to change.
I realise that kevin has done the best he can on a fairly small budget but as much as he was a great player and his heart is in it to do well for the club feel we need a fresh start.
we cannot go through this again, that is if we stay up of course.

Yes - we know that all of the players' contracts end on the 30th April but I maintain with the addition of two or three players, there would be the basis of a side that could move us up the table so I hope most of the current squad will be offered new contracts.
Oh come on; we were here this time last year, the manager knows he should never have re-engaged people like Richards, Verma, Chaney, Gerring and Hancox. He thought they would improve after being galvanised by the mid-season arrivals of people like Racchi; by the end of October he knew he was wrong and was stuck with players going downwards in their standards not improving and the die was set for another mistake-ridden season of struggle in a dreadful league.

....and what about Racchi? A few of these re-engaged players didn't like his assertiveness and went running to Herrera and the manager whingeing about him ~ a senior professional who came in and took charge out on the pitch because Young was too quiet to do so and then he gave the armband to Richards; a terrible player with no skill and precious little game reading ability. What a joke.

He re-engaged MacDonald because he saw sell-on value in him then the club sold him before he could use him this season but we never saw a decent replacement did we. He re-engaged Young for the same reason; nobody wants him because he is injury prone through his own poor technique in judging when to go in for a ball and when not. He's 24 now and has never commanded a fee in his life and is going backwards in his development......no 'sell-on value' there. McGinty might possibly have it in the same way that MacDonald did; but he's had to improve a hell of a lot form the rubbish he was playing when he first came in. As for Gallifuocco and Anderson; forget it, they're dreadful and Moore in goal has deteriorated to the extent that his distribution is woeful, command of his six yard box virtually non-existent and he's now spilling catches with alarming and increasing regularity. The equalisers at Aldeshot and Lincoln were both down to him.

Bringing Harrad back has been an expensive operation but he needed someone who could hold the ball up once Blissett had gone and he didn't get Keiffer Moore and finally I can't see Williams wanting to hang around if he can get a deal elsewhere. Likewise Keating if the club run true to form and make him the sort of derisory offer they currently have him under. Reid will more than likely be released by Exeter and he might be looking for a job and LRT is an average sort of left back for this league.

Jeez this is a squad and management who have diced with relegation all season and follows last season of rubbish too. How can anyone in their right minds believe that 'the addition of two or three players' will suffice?

What a motivational post going into the north ferriby game. Ok, these guys are not perfect, but please credit them on recent results and performances.

the team and management are clearly not good enough, it has to change, 2 years running we have been in this situation and it has to change if we are to move forward

It's not meant to be a 'motivational post', it's a realistic appraisal of a poor squad and management who have had to dig themselves out of a hole of their own making or face life outside the game because no-one else will touch them with a barge pole.

Be honest; are you prepared to put up with this lot for one more game than is necessary?

FFS? We have a team battling there hearts out, we have a manager that has yellow blood, working on a budget that is embarrassing, we have ownership that want the club relegated. They want us Down. Sacking Nicholson, isn't going to provide a bigger budget, what we want is osbourne and company to **** off .sorry for language, but what's all this shit about Nicholson and the team. COYY

In fairness a fair number of them have improved as the season has gone on. They have had to. Certainly the owners have left them to hang out to dry.

Merse I suspect is making assumptions that maybe don't exist in peripheral Devon and on the likely budget.

The truth probably lies somewhere between Merse and the happy clappers but credit where's its due to a number of them who maybe have now earns repeat terms ( and that I suspect is not a lot ) Let them prove on Saturday they have learnt the lesson of Sutton and Guiseley.

You're living in LaLa Land ~ show his budget to North Ferriby, Guiseley, Solihull, Southport, Woking, Boreham Wood, Maidstone, Bromley........it is what it is and it needs to be managed by someone who can manage on that budget.

You won't make thoroughbreds out of these donkeys; they're where they are in the league because of what they are......and it's not mud slinging it's realism

Agree and disagree would your post Merse.

You look at the amount of late goals we have conceded this year. The games that spring to mind is Lincoln home and away, Forest Green away and Aldershot away. Your talking 9 points there. Those 9 points lift you into the top half of the table and upto 10th. Whole different ball game then as the pressure is off and they can go out and play.

Who would like as manager?
Hartlepool thought Dave Jones would be their saviour and he is possibly going to take them down plus he's managed at a much higher level. Martin Allen at Eastleigh is another example. Doesn't matter who the manager is, it's upto the players.

Someone well versed in managing on the budget that will be provided. I did piece on BTPIR this morning outlining how Danny Cowley put in ten years apprenticeship at two little clubs managing like that before getting the Lincoln job.

We need a manager in situ because of what he knows not who he knows, and there are plenty operating a level or two below National League who know the low budget game and how to operate it. Stop gifting the job to old players past their sell-by date who have patently not put in the miles learning the ropes and stop believing this club can be managed whilst someone learns those ropes.

It's been a recipe for disaster; any fool can see that

'La la land' is 200 miles at least from any of the conurbation teams you are naming Merse. They have to do things differently there.

Our geographic location has a significant role in determining what type of players TUFC can attract, alongside length of contract and wage.

If we stay in the National League and just as important, the manager is afforded the same playing budget, I would expect to see similar types of signings. Why should it be any different.
Life is like TUFC. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. :goal:

My concern is this, whose decision will be to decide next season's budget? As that will be THE key factor. Who will decide next season's management team? Who will decide next season's season ticket price?
Will it be Clarke Osborne on his own? Or with others, i.e. Harrop, Rich? It certainly won't be decided by a "local board of directors" as that mysterious group are on "the back burner".
