Heavens above! It's not mandatory to have an ex-player as manager.

It's because they are the best we've got at this level in Devon have you watched their teams because they produce the goods with the budget given.
It's because we don't know what funds are available.
We are not obliged to appoint a Devon-based manager. Have you considered managers in different parts of the country?

The froth for a Devon-based manager needs to stop. The last thing we need is someone who ONLY knows the Southern/Western league.
Any "proper" NL manager worth his salt will have contacts up and down the country, at lower leagues all the way through to PL academy level. We need a manager who knows the right players for this level, and is happy to send scouts - or take in himself - a wide range of games

Someone on Facebook is certain they saw Dion Dublin at plainmoor today and is apparently looking for houses down here.. well that certainly ticks the managerial experience box eh?! **** sake.

He is trolling. IE making up then Dion Dublin nonsense.
Marcus Bignot, Gary Hill, Mark Yates, Martin Allen, Richard Money, Gary Brabin, Sol Campbell are some suggestions (no more than that) which I've seen, that are interesting shouts.

That is what we need but we just can't attract or afford someone like that and GI aren't good enough owners to bother searching

You can't say that for certain, as none of us have any idea who knows who in the game. When all these players do their Coaching badges, they could bump into all sorts.
I recall reading an article in the last year where some lower league manager (and its bugging me as I can't remember who) has struck up a personal friendship with Thierry Henry as they were on the same FA course.
Even the experienced names - Mark Yates etc - we just don't know who is in touch with who. I wouldn't say we can't find the right man, it's just a question of will we
