I actually thought Ricey had a couple of moments of indecision on Saturday - but it was his first game behind a new defence, i'm not sure it's reasonable to expect the transition to be seamless.

As for whether he's a far superior keeper to when he left, i don't know. And i really don't care. Whetever noises are being made about him contesting the Number 1 spot, it's nonsense. He's a back-up keeper. As long as he's satisfied with that, will continue to work hard and isn't draining too much in the way of finances, i remain very satisfied with his presence.

I was much more impressed with Ricey than I was with David James, if that helps.

i'm more than happy to give Ricey my support. like McPhee, coming back to a club where they've received criticism, and things were less than perfect for them previously, shows guts, bottle and more. I wish them both every success, and in order to help them succeed here this time round, some of you should try cutting them a bit of slack, give them a bit of support, and see if they can take the opportunities presented to them. i seriously hope they both prove the doubters wrong, and i think they will - i'll happily eat my words if they fail, but they deserve a chance.

The club haven't said I don't think. But as Howe, Morris, Oastler all have signed 2 year contracts it's a good bet that Rice has signed on a 2 year contract as well.

Just had it confirmed from a reliable source. :-D

That'll give Martin the stability and motivation to get his career back on track.

A vision of the future : FA Cup 3rd Round v Manchester United at Old Trafford (at last !). 0-0 and the dick with the whistle gives Man U a penalty in stoppage time. Torquay's 2nd goalkeeper (in for the suspended Bobby) and played a full part in a superb defensive performance, bobs on his line facing Rooney. Rooney steps up and sends the strike to the 'keeper's top right hand corner. Rice leaps like a cat and tips the effort on to the bar and over it goes into the Stretford end. :O

TUFC are now mobbed with offers from top flight clubs for their 'keeper. Rice turns every offer down as he doesn't want to be a bench warmer. :O

The board of directors are not best pleased at missing out on their first £1,000,000 transfer sale.

The Janner Indy seemed to suggest that Rice had signed a 2yr deal.

These are people who live and work in Plymouth VOLUNTARILY, their judgement is not to be trusted.
