I sent a tweet to his son sending the fans best wishes (as many have) and he re-tweeted all of them so I am sure our best wishes are getting through although something official from all of us on here would be a great idea Andy. May be the mods can set-up a best wishes thread then ask Andy C to pass these on to Martin and family if possible? Not sure if this is the best approach but sure some others might have better.austrianandygull wrote:I just felt compelled to post as all this 'news' regarding Martin is quite disturbing and upsetting and i think we should just concentrate on footballing matters and let him and his family in peace. Everything is just rumours and i haven't seen what these rumours are but whether they are true or untrue it is irrelevant. Fine, spread rumours about footballing issues but doing so by effectively guessing a persons illness is crass and totally insensitive. Obviously these are on twitter but i'd hate to see any tittle tattle about it appearing on here. I still read the site every day even if i don't really post anymore. I'd firstly like to take this opportunity to say how saddened i am about the whole situation and how much i would like Martin to get better as soon as possible. If anybody knows of anyway i can send a message of support then i would be grateful to know. I don't know if anyone has done so or has planned anything but i would very much like to be involved if it is appropriate.
I've got to say that the support for Martin on here has been so vocal and it is heartening to know that our club have some really salt of the earth supporters. I dare say that if it had been some other clubs there would no doubt be some nasty posts.
Credit to you all.
For what it is worth I have seen the rumours and like you said - glad they have not made there way onto here until it is more than just rumour.
