You miss my point, Brucie, as Stefano keeps trying to attribute Northampton's stunning form to football genius, Knill.

I was thinking the same as I left the ground.PlainmoorRoar wrote: Haven't been able to celebrate a goal like that in a long time l!

The above comment was intended to be a jocular one, satirical, perhaps cynical and sardonic, with a touch of irony, as anyone who has read the 'Newport - All Ticket' thread will understand. Sad to see two twts on this match thread who lack either the brains or the sense of humour (I would suggest both) to appreciate this; it seems they've not bothered to read the 'Newport - All Ticket' thread, not that it's entirely necessary: any half-intelligent reader should have perceived the jest. Lucy come on get the Newport post up and keep our luck going.lucy6lucy wrote:The forum is very quiet after the defeat to Cheltenham, hardly surprising as we all hoped for at least a point, that was not delivered. Surely we can't keep saying we must win the next match to have hope of survival as games are running out. Bury on Tuesday is the last throw of the dice. Win or Bust, and even a win is clutching straws in our fight for survival. If and that's a big IF we do win, we have to take a comfort that our last 5 matches of the season are against fellow relegation threatened teams. That doesn't include York away which is winnable I presume. Forget Scunny at home, Southend away. I am almost feeling positive, but No. I just have this hope that if we beat Bury, scrape a draw at York, our run in is in our hands. Regarding Bury match it's plain and simple 3 Points!
funny that.....just looked at the MOTM thread and no-one mentions him anywhere....Oil Beef Hooked wrote:Well well well. Another 3 points to keep the dream alive.
1st half we were much the better side and certainly had the measure of Bury. WTF was their keeper doing in the first half. Every time he touched the ball you thought he would score in his own net :~D. We should have tested him more than we did.
Mansell took his goal well which came when we'd put them under a few minutes of pressure.
Their equaliser was against the run of play (again) and looked like our defence switched off. However it was buried (pardon the pun) well, giving Ricey no chance.
Stevens came on at half time and replaced Cameron, but I'm unsure why the change. Whether he was injured or the yellow card he picked up early in the game may have influenced CH's decision.
2nd half Bury started the strongest and piled on the pressure, which we seemed to soak up well. However, there was still no cutting edge to our play. With 15 mins to go, CH sends on Yeoman and Stockley for Showumni and Benners (who I thought run his socks off again tonight). Had the script been written for Yeoman to pinch a late equaliser? You bet it had. In injury time up he pops and from about 8 yards out buries it in the onion bag. Que the ecstatic celebrations, Plainmoor went wild. The remaining minutes seem to drag on, but we weren't to be denied tonight. Not a great performance but sod it. The 3 points were more important.
Can anyone please explain why Stevens got the Twitter Man of the Match award? He was only on the pitch for half the game and didn't do anything spectacular.
My last thought goes to the ref. WTF was he doing tonight. He booked Cameron early in the 1st half for pinching a few yards at a free kick. This then set the tone for the rest of the match and if I'm honest made a few bizarre decisions all game, culminating in us receiving 4 yellows. Biased I may be, but tonight I didn't think our tackles/ challenges warranted 4 yellows to their 1.
Onwards and upwards peeps.
One of the very few advantages of being a season ticket holder i suppose.arcadia wrote:It's funny how it works out but the supporters who did not turn up for the last few games have missed the best games of the season.
Hope the crowd improves for the weekend but being an all ticket game is a joke.
I don't think Brucie missed the point at all. In fact you missed his point Hector. Brucie is more astute (and humourous) than you give him credit forhector wrote:

I think if we trawl back through your posts, Stefano, we will see you trying to suggest that Northampton's upturn in form has been down to Alan Knill. Just wondered where you stood on this now, where even CH now has a better record at TUFC than Knill did.stefano wrote: I don't think Brucie missed the point at all.
