Forgot to say, no need to listen to scare stories either, European buisness has far to bigger a stake in this country through making of cars, tyres I believe chocolate along with the supply of much of our enegry needs, if we left Europe, European buinsness is not going to pull out of this country they have to much to lose.

Matt, European buisness would niether stop sending goods to this country nor would they put prices up either.

For a start most of the goods you buy from the supermarket are either produced in this country or comes in by air. how do you think things like fresh juice and meats that are produced abroad are on the selves ready for you to buy while they are still fresh and well with in their use by dates, maybe because it's quick frozen while still fresh and stuck on a plane, then shipped by British lorries.

All European lorry companies would do is register their lorries right here in Britain, a lot of british lorry companies did some similar a few years ago by registering their trucks in Holland to pay less tax.

The EU is proposing a prohibitive tariff on Chinese solar panels, in order to protect European manufacturers. It's not the first time the EU has done this kind of thing; they do it regularly. They proclaim the benefits of free trade, yet keep prices high here because of tariffs, and reduce our trade with the rest of the world.

The sooner we get out of the EU the better..

The Tories have arrived! Bashing UKIP wherever they can, ignorantly stating UKIP as racists and loonies, you lot are good aren't you? Sound just like your leader, sound just like a socialist. UKIP are the ONLY party which doesn't allow ANY racist/fascist member to even stand as a member! Please remember also, that the Labour Party has three MP's who were ex BNP members. 'Oh, but what about those who came out recently who were in UKIP who are racist and oh, what about that bloke who was seen doing the Nazi salute and a member of UKIP'. What can they do when someone lies on there application? They have been found out and kicked out of the party right now.

Matt, are you David Cameron in disguise? Can't believe the amount of drivel and abuse that came towards UKIP. I'm a UKIP young member, will be a voter when I'm 18 and will stand as a candidate when I'm old enough, calling me a racist are you and a homophobe? I find that offensive.

What you went on about the NHS and immigration and cuts, it didn't sink in because I ended up skim reading it. What UKIP are going to do, is set out a new manifesto and new spending manifesto for 2015. We cannot go on like we are right now. The Conservative party aren't Conservative anymore, all they go on about is gay marriage, wind turbines and foreign aid, plus going on about all the problems are due to the Labour Party (not 100% false) while insulting UKIP. Labour have a leader who's un vote able, Clegg's a clown and then there's Farage. The only leader who has had a job in the real world, a leader who says it how it is, a leader who is not in politics are a career, a leader of a party who are the ONLY change in British politics, who are NOT ANTI EUROPE!! THEY ARE ANTI EU! We want and need our independence from the EU, we need control of our country.

Brief history lesson:

Judaism was the first big monolithic religion. It had one big god named 'Yahoo', though it was actually Plato who invented reality. He was teacher to Harris Tottle, author of The Republicans.

Subsequently, Caesar inspired his men by saying: 'I came, I saw, I went'. When he was assassinated he is reported to have said: 'Me too, Brutus!' Then came Christianity, but, without the discovery of the flying buttock, it would have been an
impossible job to build the Gothic Cathedral.

However, after building a couple, Ken de Follett realised the thatcher wasn't up to the job, so he said to his masons: 'You kip in this lodge for a while. I'm off to a meeting; some bloke called Farage is speaking.'

And so politics entered the modern age..

Is Politics the new football ( or rock & roll ) ?

Have the Tories got it wrong again? surely it should be "the same gender marriage bill" & not " the same sex marriage bill" or even more accurately "the homosexual marriage bill"

When the homosexuals marry will they still be Mr. Smith & Mr. Brown, or will they both share the same surname? Would it be better if one of them became Mrs., we would then know that they were a married couple?.

Will homosexual divorce be very cheap & easy as annulment could be granted on the grounds of non consummation?

Should homosexual marriage ceremonies be taxed ( say £3,000.00 ) just to pay for the Parliamentary time wasted when our MPs could have been trying to sort out the economy?

If UKIP gain sufficient influence in the next Parliament, do you thing that they will get the homosexual marriage act repealed?

Should we stop referring to homosexuals as "gay", & use the correct word "homosexual"?

The OED disagrees with your assertion that 'gay' is not a correct synonym for homosexual. Should we also stop saying 'car' and refer to them instead as 'motorised carriages'? Should we go the whole hog and revert entirely to Shakespearean English?

yes , I know it is a well used & understood synonym for homosexual, just like motor, auto, (mostly used on the continent ) car, wheels etc. is used for motor car, but does this make it correct? Don't forget gay is still in the dictionary & can be used in the old fashioned way to mean happy, bright, attractive ( as in "we had a gay time at the picnic" ). As you say motor carriage has now been shortened to car, so surely we should shorten homosexual to homo.

To be correct, the OED states that 'homosexual' is an informal meaning of the word 'gay', as opposed to a correct or original meaning. People choose the words they feel will best communicate their thoughts within any particular context, and that's fine, but there's always the risk of misunderstanding or lack of communication, which is why it's usually best to choose words the listener will hopefully understand. One would, for example, presumably use somewhat different language when talking to young Essex children rather than old Scottish pensioners.

I've amended your quote. What it said before and what it says now mean precisely the same thing.

Wodger, no need to shorted EVERY word just because we shorted ONE word. You wouldn't call a house a 'hou', simply because you call a motor carriage a 'car'.

"Stuart is a gay man. He hopes to enjoy a civil ceremony with his partner, Andrew, this summer"

The Golden Rule of statutory interpretation allows us to apply a literal meaning to the word 'gay', except where so to do would be absurd. Clearly, here, that is the case. To assume that 'gay' has its 1950s meaning of happy or joyous would also to presume that 'Andrew' was a woman with an odd name, and that, while no one was looking, straight couples were allowed to have civil ceremonies.

Language evolves. It seems that the phrase 'a lot' has managed to morph itself into a single work, 'alot'. The latter usage is now so common that it will likely never be eradicated from the language. Just the same as 'cool' is now accepted to mean 'hip or fashionable, acceptable or excellent' rather than simply 'a little bit chilly'.

I don't really like the majority of new usage. Sick meaning good. Wicked meaning excellent. Alot being one word. Even typing it here makes me go a little bit funny. That said, it's also one of the things which makes language such an interesting thing. It morphs with time, it reflects culture, it represents the people and society. It also shows us where the influence over young people lies. It is always the young who change language. The older generations tend to use language in the manner which they learnt it at school (hence your proclivity towards homosexual rather than gay, one assumes). The word 'bling', I presume, comes from black America, probably rap music. It's a word I know, but I'm not entirely comfortable using it (not that I would, you understand), because I'm not sure of its proper context.

What is somewhat more fascinating is seeing the regional differences among people. Scotland, despite being an English speaking nation, has a plethora of wonderfully expressive words. Oor Wullie is the best place to find them. Mocket (meaning physically dirty, unclean) and clatty (similar, but meaning disgusting) are two of my favourites. In Devon, 'buff' means to shine or polish, where as in Essex, it is used to mean a physically impressive chap. Lovely stuff.
