I would doubt it somehow as I'm not sure they (Ling & Carden) had a great working relationship at Cambridge. Ling actually brought in Jon Shofield and effectively promoted him (above Carden) at the beginning of last season describing him as the "missing ingredient".

Interestingly I see from that article that Ling (along with Schofield it seems) is one of only 150 or so coaches in the UK to have the UEFA Pro LIcence ... impressive.

As for Carden, not sure what the future holds, I doubt Ling would want him as a player only though as at 32 I think his best days are well and truly behind him and of course he has spent the last 4 years at Cambridge out of the league.

Buckle doesn't have the UEFA pro licence does he?

Any manager with ambition should surely have this, clearly Buckle was never ambitious at all. The lying scoundrel.

You cant just do your Pro licence, you need to be invited by the FA to do it. Plus you need a certain amout of coaching experience on the A lisence to do it.
Im on the B and did this in wales with the Welsh FA. I cant not do my A until i have done more hours coaching. Its not as easy as doing it im afraid.

I think Basil was being sarcastic, Brett. However, didn't know what you've said, so cheers for that. :~D

I'm not sure Branno had 2 easier games all season than the two we played against Shrewsbury where Harrold trundled around disinterested and completely ineffectively as Branno completely dominated him. I am absolutely stunned Bristol Rovers have spent money on that guy, has he scored 10 League goals in a season ever? absolutely toilet.

I agree about Harrold being ineffective, but I thought it was actually Robbo who did the job on him. Robbo had his two best games in the Shrews Play off games.

I think Harrold is a decent player but he didn't play well against us, mind you did any of their players do well against us? . He is the sort of forward who causes lots of problems for defences, creating lots of goal scoring chances for who ever he is playing with up top. I certainly wouldn't have minded him coming to us put it that way!

True, but you're forgetting Bristol Rovers are a much bigger club than us who will only be in this league for 1 year.

After all, they've got a 5 year plan to be in the Championship. You're forgetting the fact they have Wayne Brown, who despite never seeing any of the players in the League, he's clearly the most technically gifted player here.

Did I already say Rovers are building a new stadium, which they'll sell out every week?

Is Matt Harold up to playing for Rovers, I do not know.. :scarf:

Just had a quick look, the most goals he has EVER scored in a season is 9.

They paid money for him? LOL.

I have to disagree with you all (almost)

I think Matt Harold is perhaps the best forward in the section. He is strong, commited and has two feet. When he came down to Torquay for the 5.0 drubbing he was coming back from injury and, in fact he only played a substitutes role and he never really shock that injury off in time for the play offs.

Whilst I am hardly Buckle's biggest fan, especially now!, to have Stanley behind Harold could be quite a partnership and dare I say it Zebs playing either side...and you have a potent strike force.

Anyone have a view on Chris Shuker? In last 7 seasons played 250 times for Barnsley, Tranmere and Morecambe scoring 33 goals.
Started out at Man City. Very small but very skilled player. Released by Morecambe.

I'd definitely take him, could be a very useful player. Need a left sided version of him though!

Lol. If a striker isn't scoring goals then he is no good. It doesn't matter how hard they work if they can't scrape together 10 goals in a season they are not good enough. And it's not just me saying that, check out the god Darren Bent's interview, "if you are not scoring goals, then what is your purpose?" http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011 ... ston-villa" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
