Torquay United v Oxford United - 9/3/13
Bucks was in the crowd today. Sack knill and bring him back ASAP. 4 games 1 point, useless! The players havnt responded to him and that's what is needed in this situation.

My personal view is also that we should dispense with Knill now. Although that maybe totally bizarre he just isn't the answer. Whilst it is hard to blame him the team is worse than ever. He has had a full weeks training but we just seemed more inept than ever. Oxford were at best an average side but the manner in which we gave the ball away and gifted them the game was appalling.
About five minutes from the end Nico took a throw in near the edge of the penalty box.
He took a short throw to Mansell who tried to beat two men and lost the ball. It was crying out for Nico to launch the ball into the box.
He is trying to play short passing football which doesn't seem suitable. We just havn't got the wingers to play 4-4-2. Jarvis is out of position and the Oastler/Jarvis combination on the right offers us nothing.
Hate to say it but I would willingly accept Buckle back on a short term basis. He is familiar with
some of the players - would probably bring the best out of the likes of Benyon. Don't know what Zebroskis situation is at Eastleigh but there is one player Buckle could well get who would actuallly strengthen the side and make a difference.
Straw clutching time I know but shambolic isn't the word - it is scarcely concievable how bad we actually are.

I agree Bruce. We need an inspirational motivator now, who can galvanise the current squad out of this mess. The team has got worse under Knill. We dont need pretty football now, we need points, nothing else.
Knill complains that no-one wants to come here, well many players will go where a manager they have played for before is. I think Mr Knill they dont want to come here because of YOU. I believe Paul Buckle would have a better chance of attracting the players with the character for this daunting task. Sack Knill today and offer the job to Buckle, of course I dont know if he would take it. But if he saved us what a entry on his CV so he might.

Er.. no he isn't!Bitchie Renault wrote:
Dani Lopez is a 5ft5in defender who has previously scored 6 goals in 4 years so it's not like they've signed him as some goalscoring masterstroke, must be a complete freak for him to get that hat trick
This is what you get when you base your info on Soccerbase!
He's a striker who played in the same youth team as Torres at Atletico Madrid.
Scored over 50 goals in 3 seasons in the Spanish third tier.
Those 6 goals you mention all came this season in 12 games for Aldershot!
Just the sort of player we could have done with.
And Torquay is closer to Madrid than Barnet so location shouldn't have been a problem!
Was just reading a thread on the Argyle forum, seems most of them believe that we are already down and that Accrington or York will be the other team to save Argyle from the graveyard below.
Sadly, looking at the form table and our last 9 games it does seem that we are the most likely to go down.

I think the most important thing we need to do is make changes to the starting 11. We haven't won in nine games yet still persist in using the same players depsite the fact they just aren't performing. How can we expect things to change when we continue using the same players and tactics?
Too many players are continually the first names on the team sheet:
Oastler - Cost us two goals yesterday through misplaced passes, just doesn't look when he passes the ball. Case in point - played a ball down the right yesterday depsite having just seen jarvis run across the field with the ball 20 seconds earlier.
Nicholson - Adds very little to the team nowadays. Defensively suspect, set pieces poor.
Mansell - Doesn't add anything that other players in the squad couldn't. In previous years he would grab the team by the scruff of the neck and lead by example, just doesn't seem to have the same will to do so anymore.
Howe - what is the point in him playing? He doesn't look the same player.
Downes - been fantastic all season, but looked terrible yesterday. If he wasn't fully fit, why did we play him? McDonald hasn't been bad when he's played and the defence kept a clean sheet the game before. It looks to me like Downes came back in because he's the established player, no matter how others in the squad perform.
People say we can't drop them because those in the squad aren't good enough. How do we know? Most of them haven't been given the chance.
