Howe is basically a gonner, we've offered him something but he'll move for more money elsewhere, can't blame him. Waste of time playing for us surrounded by absolute duffers.

Talk about a sideways move. He wants his head read if he goes to Oxford (or almost any other L2 club). Still, money talks.
Matt.

Why? Oxford are a much bigger club paying more money and are more likely to be good next season than us. Depends who is after him but if it is a straight choice between Oxford and Torquay it'll be a complete no brainer for the majority of people.

Thought Oxford had money problems? I guess it doesn't stop them spending what they like (esp when the likes of Swindon get away with it)!

They'll always have a reasonable budget at this level certainly loads bigger than ours, getting rid of 12 including 3 or 4 of their top earners helps as well.

Ooh, a much bigger club, superb. They're in the same division, they got, what, a half dozen more points than we did last year, they've not looked like promotion for a number of years and have a three sided ground. In the grand scheme of things, Oxford and Torquay are basically identical. He's going to the highest bidder, which isn't necessarily a criticism, but it is a somewhat sad state of affairs in the modern game.
Matt.

their ground 12,000 - 6,000 crowds
our ground 6000 - 2500 crowds
Their history > our history
Their potential > our potential
their squad > our squad
Their training ground > our training ground
their budget and ability to pay > ours
Oxford > Torquay
But yeah we're the same. Amazing.

surprised both Oastler and Leadbitter have gone. Disappointed about Oastler, surprised it's both.

The interesting ones are Jarvis (who he liked so not surprised) and Morris are both getting something, I imagine both will be a year and Morris will probs get offered less money but the others i'm not surprised. Both of our right backs were crud it was just about picking the least crud one, which I personally always felt was Leadbitter but he isn't good enough either.
good moves, ideally even mroe would have gone but can't have it all.

The only one missing from the Herald list is Ian Morris .... anyone know what's happening with him?
Given he missed most of last season, I wouldn't be surprised if he is either offered a short term prove yourself deal or maybe just given the opportunity to "trial" with us in pre season.
