My source is very good, no reason to doubt, and even if he doesn't sign it's good to hear AK making some effort and aiming high - oh ye of little faith?

I don't think he did but I haven't really looked properly, he replied to a Wigan fan asking about his nationality.taxilady wrote:Wiki says he's tweeting about joining Wigan, but I can't be bothered to look it up !

your source maybe, but with only 3 posts- your trust won't be by many on here...yet.

Fair point......Yellow4life wrote:

I bet there is no chance you will name your source Jimmy Jimmy!
There is more chance of me having a period than there is of us signing Manset!

Why would he name his source? No one would.

I'm hearing also we are after Manset! It seems Knill does not aim low!
This is something I am glad at. We are not after players to compete next season it seems Knill thinks he can go and get playoffs. I think we all need to be patient to see what we can find. We all want multiple signings but if rather wait an extra 2 weeks and watch us win more over the current season.

RR has made over 430 posts on here and there are still some that doubt his postings, so number of posts have nothing to do with it. Teeboo, with his first post, which was slated by many on here, stated we were signing Chris McPhee and "a chap called Leadbitter from Newcastle". He was spot on.Yellow4life wrote:

Regardless of how many posts "Jimmy" has made, I personally don't think it's so unrealistic as some on here seem to think. In reality, he(Manset) had a very good and productive (in terms of goals) few months in League 2 with Hereford a few seasons back and off the back of that got a big money move to the Championship with Reading, where he scored a few but ultimately he failed an was let go.
A brief stay with Carlisle in League 1 last season, was also not very productive in terms of goals either and ultimately he was released by them as we'll. It seems as though he has lost his way a bit and needs to rebuild his career somewhere else, why not Torquay under Alan Knill?
His career path doesn't seem that different to say Rene Howe, who ultimately we are potentially looking to replace him with. Howe it should be remembered was also deemed a failure at Championship level with Peterborough and needed to drop down a couple of levels to rebuild his career ( and reputation) with us and no doubt take a considerable cut in his wage packet too.
Whether there is anything in this rumour or not I don't know, all I am fairly certain of is that Knill has been to Paris in pursuit of a player, whether that player is Manset remains to be seen and even if it was there is no certainty that AK would be able to persuade him to move to us as I would imagine he may have other offers, but like I say, I don't think it's that unrealistic to think that we may have at least tried to get him in. Howe's wages alone would have amounted to a fairly hefty wedge of the playing budget and with all the other outward movement going on I would imagine we would be able to make something close to a decent offer to him.

Two chances of signing Manset - Bob Hope and No Hope.

With any hope, we'll be back to the days of signing random French players.
If Knill is seriously talking to Manset then we can come to two conclusions:
1. Knill has the resources and backing to bring in decent players, perhaps more so than we initially thought.
2. He's not yet realised that we're in the middle of nowhere and in the past haven't always been the most attractive destination for players.

I heard from my own (ludicrously unreliable) source, that we were chasing Luke Guttridge, who has just decided not to re-sign with N'ampton. Just to put it out there!
