Howe taken for 2nd week running due to risk of being sent off.

Not good enough.

The gap between them and the midfield, Tompson was the attacking outlet, yes a lot to place on his young shoulders, with him sat to deep the gap is to wide, your defensive midfielder is there to protect the back four and double up if needed.

Yep would have taken a point before the game, a lot of players out was allways going to be tough, just a tad dissapointing as I do feel we invite far to much pressure on ourselves at times.

Phew 1-1 it finishes.

Great effort in defence but I have a big problem. Ok sometimes you just have to defend when the opposition is rampant, today may have been one of those days. But we really do need to find ways of keeping possession and relieving pressure. Otherwise we give all the initiative to the opposition and mediocre teams become very good ones. We hardly had a kick second half and they hit the woodwork a couple of times, had shots off the line and what sounded like many decent chances. We have a very tough game away against Rotherham where we probably have to defend all game again, but when we play the likes of Wimbledon later in the month we simply have to take the game to them. Port Vale are a good side and a point there is an excellent result, but we will never know if they are genuinely as good as they were today or whether we just let them be.

Very happy with a point today. Under lots of pressure throughout and only a mistake by Saah cost us all 3 points, but on the balance of play, Vale should have run away with it.

McKenzie sounded like he had a good game today. How refreshing it is to see Martin Ling having faith with the youth set up to put some of our younger players into the thick of it. Can only do them the world of good. Another manager I know wouldn't have done that.

Still unbeaten and a good platform to take for the first Devon Derby of the season.
