Seen the rumours regarding that Bucks authorised the sale of Hoskins etc, but that to me makes this hole situation seem even more strange.

How could he be pretty much starting work at Bristol Rovers, while getting us through to the play off final? Whatever anyone says, are you really telling me that the players wouldn't be affected by their manager, all of whom apart from Robertson and Mansell, were brought to the club by him. And that it wouldn't affect the excellent team spirit that the players AND Bucks keep speaking about?

If we don't go up then yes, I can see Bucks leaving but I really don't believe that he has signed a contract, that he has agreed a deal or anything like that.

Like others have said, keeping us in league one, or being mid table/holding our own in the first 10 games of the season will look a hell of a lot better than being in the top ten of league two with Bristol Rovers. At that stage when Chairman are panicking and getting rid of managers then he will be looking at and could end up with a lower to middle Championship club or one of the bigger sides in League One.

Shall wait and see I suppose....

could be something as simple as he had contract and got a flat based on the length of that contract - might not be able to lease it now and has to move.

I'm worried too, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

I have to question why the club have not made an offer to either Branston or Stanley.

Heading into what amounts to be the biggest game in terms of both the club and some of the players history, why would a player who is destined to move, play his heart out for the club he is leaving? You know I am going to be really pi**ed off if I find out after Saturday that the club knew the manager was going and therefore did not want to make a decision about who to sign knowing he was going, knowing full well we were going to lose some good players if we did.

Both of these players have gone on record to say they want to stay at the club, although I may be a bit naive to think that this may be how they generally feel - perhaps this is a standard line for out of contract players who are moving on.

This cat and mouse game of waiting to offer before seeing what league we are going to be in and what manager we will have, could cost us dearly. The only one holding all the cards now is Buckle. If he does go and the board cannot convince him to stay, we may regret waiting - I am not one to sit on the fence - make a decision!!!

However, this ill timed move by Buckle to sign ahead of this most vital game also says a lot about the man himself and his attitude. This is not the first time he has done something without thinking about the implications! - clearly he will stop at no cost to get what he wants! - I applaud him for the results he has got for the club albeit with some very strange signings and tactical decisions and some luck it has to be said too - but as a person, I have never been a big fan. But in football, it's money that talks and nobody wins any nobel prizes for being a 'nice manager' do they!

I just hope we are still able to carry forward the momentum of this season next year and we dont find ourselves having taken 2 steps forward, 3 steps back!

Have a great day everyone Saturday - keep your chins up - like true gulls!

The article in today's Herald gives me some hope that maybe, just maybe, Bucks might still be with us next season:

I am now firmly of the opinion that (despite rumours at the Bristol end to the contrary) nothing has been signed as yet. I get the feeling that it could just be simply down to whether or not we win the game tomorrow - win and he stays, lose and he goes.

Either way, I'm sure we will know either way at the very beginning of next week as it wouldn't be fair on either club to drag things on any longer.
