If the deal needs approval from the FA and the National League then surely we have to get someone from the club (who is opposed) to the deal to intervene by making a statement to the FA / NL?
Kevin Nicholson? Rob Stanley? Sharon Cox?

Owners who cannot be arsed to turn up for their own press conference. Bunch of tossers. Wish they would all just **** off.
Yep - now they havn't shown up for their own press conference. Great way to appease the fan base that is.

On saturday on this thread I posted " it seemed like we had a reluctant buyer in GIL".
The events of today are making me think GIL have got "cold feet" and got rail roaded into a deal by Peter Masters.
Quite clearly things are not going to plan.

I think we're all gravely concerned about the intentions of GI, and there actions today have done nothing to appease us. This football club is essential to the wider community- Torbay desperately needs a successful football club.
I believe as suggested we give them a chance because essentially we do not know what they have planned (though of course their track record is suggestive of a negative path). If they prove themselves to be fraudsters as many believe them to be, then we have to fight tooth and nail to save the club and take it back to where it should be.

Here is an update from the OS.
Further to the announcement on Friday 16th, the Board of TUAFC are pleased to confirm that the proposed sale of the club to Riviera Stadium Limited is progressing towards completion of contractual details, and is now scheduled for Tuesday 20th December.
A delay to the expected timetable has arisen in dealing with detailed matters, and does not reflect the commitment of the parties to completing the deal.
A further press release from both parties will be issued tomorrow.

Can the mods merge these three threads about GI into one? They're all discussing the same thing.

Surely the detailed matters should be dealt with before the takeover is agreed

Rory Fallon and Durrell Berry have had their contracts cancelled by Truro City today. Maybe they're going to rock up with Tully.
TUFC never fails to let its fanbase down.
27/08/18 - Time to step back from this shambles and focus on things in life that make me happy. TUFC doesn't.

A press conference which they did not bother to turn up for and now a statement saying the press conference due for today will now be a press release tomorrow.
Will we ever see GI actually in person/s? To me it is very clear an obvious tactics and the more they continue to hide in the shadows the more you realise just how little they care for the actual running of a football club.
Make no mistake - today was a big 'f*ck you' to the fans and press associated with Torquay United Football Club and only goes to further confirm the road we are now on and where it will end up.

Property developers always hide. They hide behind their accountants, lawyers, land agents. They rarely reveal themselves, preferring others to do their dirty work for them.
Nope they haven't yet apparently. Too busy agreeing terms to worry about the press etc.
Not a particularly good, reassuring, or diplomatic start but all of these words are probably old fashioned. Re-assuring a suddenly nervous and worried board or seeking still better terms than they had on Friday. Either way it's another horrible horrible day for the fans and supporters. These developers are here basically to land trade or build on our pitch. The fans feel simply abused. Not communicated with and left totally in the dark.
Tonight it will be the usual ITV special - life at the Devon death wish club...
Surely, surely between you GI and Board you could have done a little better than you did today...? surely there has to be a better way of conducting the day than this ??

So this is first we hear of the position the club was in, and it's after it's too late for any action, and it's from the person who's said nothing for months, telling us what we should know about the position of the club...Phillips stressed: "We were facing administration, people should realise that.
