And just like that, the season is over. It's really quite incredible how it ended, considering where it started.

Well done to GJ and the Gulls. For some players, it'll be their last game with us, for others we'll see them again next season. Hopefully we can keep the core of the team, particularly the loanees who have impressed so well. They really have been fantastic for us!

Fantastic end to the season, in front of yet another massive away following. Incredible support this season from Torquay fans.
Congratulations to the players, and everyone else involved with the club. Come on bath win the playoffs, I did actually want Woking to get promoted with us, but not now.

Personally predicted there could be a championship winning hangover, to be fair most of us knew it. Chippenham away certainly was, and it's easy for us to forget the young age of the majority of the squad, whilst they should have beaten Hungerford, the occasion may have got to one or two of the youngsters. All football fans can be fickle, boy TUFC do fickle better than most however, it's been disappointing to see how a small minority returned to moaning, and flounced off so quickly, certainly didn't have as many fans at St Albans yesterday to the number of tickets sold.

For a start what a great welcome some of fans had in the Robins nest pub, no police called, no security called, and the bar staff openly encouraging, the TUFC fans to have a sing song, even taking videos on their phones, just the way it should be.

I went to this game with no expectation at all, the championship winning hangover the squad was suffering, hadn't been lost on me at all, and we're going away to one of the better sides in the division needing a win for a play-off spot, but like most, I really wanted to see us play like champions, and our team didn't let us down.

With some fans coming in late, most of us barely settled down we're 1 up, 8 minutes 2up, sandwiched in between the two goals, we've hit the post, and their keeper has pulled off a save that many a world cup keeper would have been proud of, so genuinely could have been 4.0 up after 10 minutes, we struck the woodwork again shortly afterwards, and in that frantic opening, would, and no surprise miss a penalty, it really could have got embarrassing for the home side.

As you would expect with home side having something to play for, they finally got a foothold in the game, and created a number of good opportunities of their own, thankfully some good defending, and MacDonald pulling off a couple of decent saves to match the keeper at the other end, the team kept them out.

Second half, St Albans came out much the brighter team, as you would expect, and for 15-20 minutes caused a fair few problems, it's always in the back of your mind if they'd have got it back to 2.1 very much game on, but again good defending kept them out, once our third goal came, it was game over though, and once again our team got on top, and very much finished it, as they'd started, forcing two more very good saves, from the home keeper, who to be fair was outstanding throughout the match, and the fourth goal soon followed.

Those of you who decided not to go. Boy you missed a treat.

It's the way it is. A winning and successful attracts more followers (glory hunters?) and when the going gets tough don't expect them to hang around.
