I couldn't care less whether you personally liked the name or otherwise. As far as i knew that is what you referred to yourselves as.
As for the second bolded part, it's nonsense. I didn't consider 'ultra's' had 'hooligan conotations' as you put it.
My point was merely that if you want to distinguish between yourselves and the rest of our support, you need to refer to yourselves as something that makes you stand out. I don't know, something like 'the singers' could work...

Well, the toys have well and truly been thrown out of the pram here haven't they?!
I'm pretty sure the "Yellow Army" was a term given to the group who wanted to create a better atmosphere within Plainmoor and at away games. Technically, it is all of us but the use of the term by Awayday just a few posts ago was quite blatantly describing the group and there really was no need to jump down his throat about it Fonda. He was just trying to make it easier for those of us who want to sing, to find where to go.
I remember an argument you and I had many moons ago under my previous alias and I see nothing has changed at all.

I didn't intend to 'jump down anyone's throat' (and don't think i did?). I merely had a point to make (which is kind of how forums work). The fact most seemingly disagree with me indicates on this occasion, my point was not valid. I can accept that.
As for the second point, it's kind of covered by the first. This is s forum where people express their views, so you're right 'nothing has changed at all'.

Fonda wrote:I understand all that Dave. I just think everyone who is travelling next week can justifiably consider themselves part of the 'Yellow Army'. So you can't distinguish a certain part of the support in that way. Looks like i'm out-voted on this anyway so i'll say no more.
And there was me thinking you were going to say no more :rules:

When I use the term "jump down his throat", I meant in a "there was no need to kick up a fuss" kind of way. Does that even make sense?! I don't know!
I don't think your point was not valid, if anything I see your point, but I don't think it was a point that really needed to be made, let alone in the way that you did.
We have the unfortunate situation that we have two meanings for the term "Yellow Army". One is for the group of singers and the other is for the fanbase as a whole. For the purpose of the forum, perhaps we could call the group the "Yellow Army Singers" which would avoid any confusion in the future.
I can't make the game on Saturday which i previously had planned to go. The other half has got to work and my mum is on holiday so i'm on childcare duty. Can't find anyone else who i trust to look after my daughter for a whole day. Gutted but i'll try and make up for it by going to the Daggers game and making my presence felt (or heard?!). So wished i could be there to bask in the atmosphere and sing my lungs out but its not to be. Sing a song for me lads! Cheers. Hope to meet up with a few of you for the first time if poss at Daggers but if not definately at Northampton on the 10th of Sep.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.
Top WUMing from Fonda to be fair, hooked a few. Yellow Army, Ultras it's all a bit mince isn't it?
If i go i'll be on the terrace, having been to that anus of a ground before I am paying the cheapest possible price to enjoy their 'facilities', the calibre of which were last seen at the Globe Theatre 1564.

.................and at Accrington in 2011. I had to have a slash in a small wooden box AND in the dark!

That's the ritz compared to Saltergate. I went there once before feeling ill anyway, made my way to the bogs and found it had no roof. Nice. The lovely Chesterfield folk in the houses behind the stand could easily see me and everyone else having a pi$$. Delightful.
Yeah i agree Royalgull, I think having lived in Chesterfield myself for the best part of 10 years and visiting saltergate a million times i kinda got used to it and forgot that the place was such a shithole!

But it was their shithole, and now they've joined the world of identikit grounds.
God forbid Torquay ever get one of those soul less concrete bowls. Hereford was an absolute dump that i went to last year, loved it. Main stand all boarded up, one end condemned with a public toilet on the back of it, £12 to get in, could barely see the far end, marvellous. That's what footballs all about. Not £20 to get into Oxford's 3 sided crap hole of a ground 5miles outside the city centre.
Hi guys, probably not the place to post this but wasn't sure else where to put it.
Are we able to turn up and pay on the gate for Saturday's game with BR? - seem to be getting conflicting info. Also, want to be in the singing section so can you guys tell me the best part of the ground to get in with the regulars!
Can't wait.
May not be the original, but I am the best 'TauntonGull' .... See I can do signatures too, coz I am a real boy!

50% agree with you there Royalgull. I like the individualism and history ot the ramshackle old grounds as opposed to the boring shrewsbury/oxford/chesterfield purpose built stadiums; however, they should be made to improve their toilet facilities so that they are acceptable for all men, women and children who go to the games more often these days. I don't want to be paying £20 to get in at Macc say, realise that the beer or pie has played merry havoc with my digestive system and then worry for the next 75 minutes whether i'm gonna shit my self or not because the one toilet has a door which won't lock (ala mansfield) or there is no shit roll. There is no excuse in 2012 for archaic toilet facilities especially.

It's what makes Division 4 football great, the uncertainty of whether your socks have to become Andrex double soft for the day.
You took a shit at Macclesfield? brave man sir. Did you escape STD free?
