Even Morris admits he's not a winger. Everytime hes played in the centre hes done well for us and is proven in that position. Remember his pass away at Chesterfield for Howe's goal? Thats what he's capable of when played in his prefered position of centre midfield.

cant wait for tomorrow. That Leicester game was just a warm up!!! Looking forward to a new ground and surprising another club with the noise of the yellow army. Got a mate from Fleetwood who suggests not wearing colours if you are walking far. Probably being a bit OTT but will see how brave I'm feeling in the morning. YELLOWS

So, taking that, I'd say Morris is your Spreader, Manse is your Buzzer and although football has changed from the Jimmy Case Cruching days, Lathrope / Easton are your Cruchers or break up of play - ers.
the best midfield i ever had the pleasure of watching regularly was the famous leeds united one from 90-92 or so, the buzzer, gordon strachan, the spreader, gary mcallister and the cruncher, the magnificent david batty!! added to that the had the running and heading skills of the late gary speed. as close to the perfect midfield that i can imagine!! well up until barca muddied the pitch somewhat!!

what did your mate say devonboy? i have heard from a few sources that it can get a bit dicey up there which is weird as the town itself is as big as my bathroom and they've got about 4 fans, just wondered if anyone else knew owt?

Fleetwood Town have signed 22-year-old Crystal Palace midfielder Alex Marrow on loan. But will Fleetwood get stuffed anyway..? (stuffed... marrow...?) Ah, well.. :slap:

So the new season is finally apon us once again. The day where everyone starts on level footing. How will the Gulls fare this time out? Will we see ourselves storm to the championship by Christmas time? Will be find ourselves fighting for an automatic promotion spot, or will it be 3rd time lucky with a promotion via the play-offs? Will we just miss out, or will we have a mid-table season? Or will we have a season where we end up looking over our shoulders?

Who knows, all I know is this. FOOTBALL IS BACK!! COME ON YOU YELLOWS!!!!

Good morning all, and to all the fans on there way to Fleetwood. Finally got round to registering after a few years just reading, hopefully will not make a complete fool of myself.
I can remember watching all the pre season games last season and being relatively happy(considering the circumstances) before the first game at Home against Burton. We gave them a 2-0 head start I think and fought back for a draw . This pre season we have played better teams and far tougher questions have been asked.
I just hope today we dont give them a head start before we start playing. As for the debate about who is best and in what position. I dont even think ML really knows.

After watching our defence on Tuesday night and also seeing Howe is still not putting it in the back of the net am not very optomistic so far. But who knows Lingys a good manager and we have quality else where.

Feel we are on a hiding to nothing today. Similar occasions when away at promoted team on the first day (Macclesfield & Kidderminster) saw us defeated and I sort of expect the same today, sadly.

And if Fleetwood field a £20,000,000 squad, I'm sure our defence will once again be made to look silly. 8/

Matt.

Fleetwood is.......erm........pretty barren! Ground is alright though - pitch doesn't half seem small though!

Craig and Macklin are out warming up so obviously they are fit enough to play some sort of role. Oastler is also out there deapite having a heavily strapped nose.
