how about the club investing in some decent covers for the pitch so we dont end up with annoying last minute postponements because of a bit of water.

therefore not putting the supporters out and building more pressure on the team because of a backlog of fixtures whilst also letting near rivals go and get a head start on us.

we used to have a set of covers at one time during the bateson era and they were very effective so why do we not have any now?

how many times has this now happened in recent seasons?

instead of talking about plastic pitches surely this is a cheaper and easier option.
You are my torquay, my only torquay, you make me happy when skies are grey, you'll never know, just, how much i love you, so don't take my torquay away.

Here is a suggestion - Ring the local radio station immediately that the game is called off so they can announce it straight away. Hardly rocket science.

My old man was given a Bristow Bench ticket today, when he asked for a popside ticket. He didnt notice and went into Boots. He had to give his stub to the lady. Later he realised he gad the wrong ticket, and had to go bavk to the lady in Boots and she had to look through her whole bag of stubs to find it. Eventually he went back to the ticket office, to be given a directors box ticket. He then found out the game was cancelled.

The customer experience and level of service is abysmal. This isnt a one off, this kind of story happens weekly!

SkyBlueGull wrote: c) Have an "exile" season ticket where say you can have a season ticket for 10 games at £x - an offer at the begining of the season not halfway through it. I live in Warwickshire and make about 8 home games a season. I would buy one because it may entice me to 2 more games but - hey ho - if I didnt the club have the money off me anyway.

d) Have some loyalty scheme for fans who attend away games - say the production of 3 away game tickets gets you x% off purchases at the club shop or a free pie at a home game. I know that this doesnt exactly make the club money but it shows the clubs recognition to loyal fans - some of whom spend 12+ hours of a Saturday attending a match.
Really like both of those. I think we also need to be more on the ball with new technology, social media, etc.

I get the impression from some of these stories that our level of customer service and professionalism behind the scenes is also lacking, but I don't know what to do about that.

More signage on the roads too, that one by Kerswell Gardens hasn't always been up to date and if I remember rightly it just says 'Saturday/Tuesday', doesn't give a date. Which doesn't help if noone's changed it over.

The sign by the roundabout will be updated from the start of next season.

I think you will find that since Chris our new Groundsman was appointed several months ago the sign at DGM has been updated for every home game as this was included on his list of duties. I used to get regular complaints before then that it had not been done but these also dried up months ago. It is not easy to find free advertising space but we will continue to use whatever opportunities come our way.

I applaud the use of twitter with @InsidePlainmoor - it's handy for score updates and subs when I'm on the move.

Surprised the club haven't done much (if anything) with Facebook though. A (free) way of advertising, surely?

Some great ideas in the letter that ST holders received. That's a very positive start I think.

Can you elaborate Nick?

Basic points:

- Free programme from tonight and for the Rovers game.
- Existing ST holders are invited to a free open evening in July where we meet players and have a Q&A session with the decision-makers at the club.
- Next season we have the chance to bring a friend along to any category B games of our choice for FREE. (Categorisation announced at a later date)
- New discount scheme, current season ticket holders can purchase 2/3/4 year ST's at todays prices. 2yr has a 5% discount, 3yr has a 7% while 4yr has 10% off which is good.
- This payment can also be spread over time by agreeing a repayment package.

A quick question for Andy C though. Regarding the free entry for friends idea, would that be just one game or as many category B games as we like!?

Surprisingly enough, @Insideplainmoor has had a Facebook page for a while now it seems, https://www.facebook.com/insideplainmoor?fref=ts

You don't seem to be the only one that was not aware of it's existence!

Agreed, the twitter account is extremely well run. The only issue I have with it, is how it seems like it's automated e.g. just forwarding links from the site, scores and team sheets. Saying that though, recently it has been a lot more user friendly and shows that it is genuinely run by a person/team for example tonight thanking the fans (nice touch). But on the whole a massive well done for the twitter account :)

Another suggestion, Is there any way the club could link its twitter feed with its Facebook page? The Official Facebook page was last updated on the 25th of February. As l am, and I'm sure many others are not fan's of twitter, the updates given from there would give those of us that use Facebook more updates from the club which could improve the Advertisement of the club surely?
