The lack of scanners is probably the main reason they don't do that. Until there's some refurbishment that's not an option, and there's probably more important priorities for spending right now.

A book of 23 tickets seems pretty simple and effective. That's what they were using when I last had a season ticket, and it was easy enough to use.

I would be interested in a table of statistics showing the number of season tickets sold in - say - the last 20 years.
