In that case, Westcountry video is deceptive, because I can assure you, the usual problem areas, the bottom corner where the Pop meets the Family Stand, was mud, as was a lot of that entire touchline. The goalmouths were the same. The match today may well be playable, but it might come at the cost of our next couple of home fixtures with the damage it will do to the surface. Given our penchant for playing decent football these days, the last thing we need is a quagmire.

ferrarilover wrote:You're not wrong Shrimpy. We got all the way to the ground at Crewe once before a steward told us it was off. This was 7 days after we got to within about 50 miles of Accrington (happy for Diamondgirl to correct me on this) when we heard that match was off, turned off the motorway, round the roundabout and back home again, what a cake and arse party that week was.

Seriously though Shrimps, whatever you do, make damn sure you check with our club first before travelling, because it is properly throwing it down here and it is no exaggeration to say that the pitch looked about 10% away from total destruction on Tuesday.

Any prediction on away fans Shrimpy?

Matt.

I reckon about 300-400 odd will make the long journey west . You never know whats gonna happen with our support. I went to blackpool once in january and about 1200 southend turned up so anything is possible lol

Today's forecast suggests that there won't be any more rain, just foggy to start with but brighting up later in the day.

I'm due to head off in half an hour, so will keep checking .com and here for any updates. Would be very surprised if the games off considering how well our pitch tends to soak.

Can I just post a quick reminder to people in the prediction league. The deadline is 2.59 pm this afternoon.

Also to bear in mind is that that Week One of the new season starts on Tuesday with the Cheltenham game. This is a great opportunity to join if you are new to the site or just want to join in.

Don't get me started mate, I knew it was an error when I did it, but it was so much easier to format it all in the reply box than it was to do it in Word, so I took the chance and, of course, it bit me firmly in the arse, right on the hole!

Matt.
It's happened to me on numerous occasions recently with short off the cuff posts. I've pressed preview to proof read and WHOOSH . . . . . disappeared into the ether never to be seen again. :@

The problem with off the cuff (spontaneous) posts is they can rarely be rewritten word for word.

On to today's game then. Old Luggy is a canny bugger and we will have done very well to have won. Tight game is what I expect.

2-1

Robinson, Kee

Attendance : 2231
