If I'm honest, I was one of the people that hated the stripy design when we had the vote a few months ago. It just looked too retro for me and also felt that the Sparkworld logo didn't look right with the stripes.

But when I saw the shirt with the new sponsors logo, I had a change of heart and thought it looked a lot better to the extent that I was going to buy it. -------------------->>>>>>>>>
However, to see the latest concoction, which is somewhat different from the style that won the vote, there is no way I would buy it. The TUFC logo is now in one colour, there are no lines within the white stripes and what has happened to the collar?

I do wonder how the club can ask fans to vote for a shirt, and then change the winning option completely. It has yellow and white stripes. That is the only similarity.
"Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something."
The club has been accused often of being to distant from it's fans, so I applaud them for opening up and trying to connect with us fans. However on the kit think it was a mistake, it's the players at the end of the day who have to wear it, and win games in it.

Forever you are right before a match a few weeks ago they brought the shirt in and asked what the players like and disliked and that's what we ended up with. I agree the yellow needs to be more prominent !

that would explain the lack of a collar then, players tend to prefer a v-neck rather than a full on collar

Spot on Fonda, a pointless exercise. The winning shirt is now a different colour, has no black stripes where it should and has a totally different collar to the one that everyone voted for. I'm all for the club getting interactive with us fans but for this they shouldn't have wasted our time. We voted for shirt G, not the one we've got.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Needs to be a darker yellow, its to light. The collar doesn't bother me as much but surely we can do a better badge than that.
For me a darker yellow and a badge like our current home shirt and I'll be happy. I'll buy it what ever but would make it nicer.
Surely if the club was clever they could release collar version for the fans to wear, if the players want a v neck. Either way its going to have football league badges on it so I'm happy

Are people 100% certain this example of the shirt is the final production version, and not just a prototype for the occasion?

surely it cant be too late to tweak the yellow and sort the badge out.
the players wont need a kit until at least july and the fans dont usually manage to get their hands on the replica shirts from the club shop until at least the end of october.
i do agree though it doesnt look much like the final winning design and if i had, had my heart set on G i would have been p!ssed off as well.

You are my torquay, my only torquay, you make me happy when skies are grey, you'll never know, just, how much i love you, so don't take my torquay away.

yet another reason it should be yellow only and not bloody yellow and white stripes.
we could always sing "you are my torquay" to the tune of "you are my sunshine" like we used to.
havent heard it at plainmoor for ages. 'twas always my personal favourite. my dad said it was our signature tune in the 60's and 70's.
it is a favourite memory of watching the gulls when i was a kid. indeed, they sang it on the pop for ages at the end of my first ever match, 2:2 vs crewe, may 87, the great escape. it brought tears to my eyes and i was hooked on suporting torquay from that day.
im getting too old to start songs on the pop these days so we shall have to suggest it to the young bucks and get them singing it often next season.

Completely agree. Always enjoy our renditions of that. Not frequent enough anymore unfortunately.chunkygull wrote:

Actually Chunky, "You are my Torquay" does still get the occasional outing. We will have the usual"Your grounds too big for you" and the "I wanna go home" rubbish but, unless some of the bright sparks out there can come up with something containing "Washed out yellow and white stripes army" I can see our "singing" being very limited next season.
