Think a lot of our fans will be disappointed if this rumour is true as the majority were hoping to have Conrad Logan back this season (Was absolutely brilliant and only conceded something like 11 in 12 games .We had been letting in hatfulls till he arrived. There have been no sightings at this end so may not be true or of course he may have gone somewhere else. To be honest our main site is the last to know any news. All the talk on our forum at the moment seems to be on the "New" ground which if it is true is probably the latest delaying plan cos we cant afford it. I would imagine you must be hoping to have a new Manager this week and we must be hoping for sopme new players coming this week.Although its early days it is quite worrying to only have 7 contracted senior players with no goalkeepers!!
Hopefuly we will both have some news thius week.

Think some of you are forgetting that Bevan was as goalkeeper of a side that got to the playoff final. Granted he made the odd mistake like any keeper at any level, but on the whole he was solid. Better the devil you know....

Bevs always struck me as a confidence player - if he made a good save or clean catch early on and the crowd got behind him he'd be imperious the rest of the game, but if he spilled a shot or skewed a kick it could all go to pot and everything from then on would be poor. Regardless of departures (players and managerial), goalkeeper was one of the positions I felt we needed strengthening this summer.
Good luck to him if he moves on, but I won't miss his up-and-under kicks from his hands.

true. but the season before, we had michael poke, without doubt a better all round goalkeeper, and we were fighting relegation most of the season. still, i know which keeper i'd rather have.Boom Boom wrote:Think some of you are forgetting that Bevan was as goalkeeper of a side that got to the playoff final. i know this does not mean a thing either way, however just been down to the club to renew my season tickets, and right there in reception sat at a desk typing soemthing into a computor was the one and only Scott Bevan.
The only thing i can take from that,is he has not left yet.

All the best Scott...seemed like a good fella
Not so sure he would have gone if there was a manager in place...

Leaving us in good hands he said.
I see so Bevan was at plainmoor to tie lose ends ,good work on the Original post.
many thanks Scott and best wish's.
however my opinion stands, there are a few equal to Bevan, some better availible,so not to worried by this move.

It does appear so Brady,no worry as ive said before give me Jake Cole any day of the week before Bevan, just been on there forum pure comedy gold ,they really are getting wet around rim over signing Bevan, haven't got the heart to tell he can't kick, and has the mobilty of a carthorse down to the bottom corners.regiment wrote: typing up his letter of resignation by the sounds of it

Good luck to big Bevs, very good keeper at League 2 level done a good job for us but can be replaced. His kicking is absolutely dire but other than that he's a pretty solid keeper. i think he'll do well for them, I fully expect to see Branston go there too. Will be two solid signings for them, i'm sure that's what Bucks is sorting first. Getting his defense sorted with players he knows.

I dont know where have you been looking, but we certainly are not getting wet around the rim as you put it.forevertufc wrote: It does appear so Brady,no worry as ive said before give me Jake Cole any day of the week before Bevan, just been on there forum pure comedy gold ,they really are getting wet around rim over signing Bevan, haven't got the heart to tell he can't kick, and has the mobilty of a carthorse down to the bottom corners.
Most of us want Conrad Logan between the sticks, and hopefully we still will have, and Bevan will be our adequate 2nd choice.
He may be sh*t at kicking, but didn't he keep 18 clean sheets for you last season? I read on here that most of you thought Mikel Anderson was dogsh*t too, yet he was the best keeper in League 1 for 2 years when he was here, and is highly rated at Reading and will be a top keeper.
We havn't got a goalkeeper, so 1 is better than none whoever he is. 18 clean sheets for us next season will be a miracle considering our pathetic defence.
