Below is the email my girlfriend sent to Torquay regards run out music:

"Hi there

Below is the song I recommend for Torquay to run out to. I think it would be a good choice due to the irony of the fact we are, (like many clubs around us!), skint.

" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Let me know what you think

Many thanks

Emily"

stefano wrote:I loved Trojan's "March of the Mods" about 7 posts back. Really brought back memories of 60's Plainmoor leaning on the fence waiting in anticipation for our heroes to emerge. Those smells of onion, tobacco smoke, and liniment mixing together with the music to create the experience that was Plainmoor, and warming us all up to welcome our gladiatorial swashbuckling heroes to put yet another Northern team to the sword. Stubbs, Northcott, Benson, Jenkins, Wolstenholme, Bettany ... 48 goals in 12 successive league and FA Cup games .... 4 a game! .... and another 16 goals went in at the other end! 5.3 a game!!

Certainly value for money, and no goal music required then just a few thousand wooden rattles swung manically above the head like a demented cowboy trying to lasso a steer! Mind you with the number of goals we were scoring then the bloody goal music would have been on all game!

I would love to see A Banda back as the run out tune. It was good enough for about 30 years and for me is part of the tradition of the club. My e-mail to the club pleaded desperately for no goal music, and my other choices were Children by Robert Miles at half-time (another more recent Plainmoor favourite) and Yellow by Coldplay as we leave the ground.

With the PA system being attached to the Grandstand though there may be nowhere to play it!! ;-)
Leaning on the fence with a rattle, I did that too ! It's strange how in an instant I can remember things from my primary school days, but I can't remember where I put my keys an hour ago.

I remember Herb Alpert being very popular in the '60s and A Banda wasn't the only track by Herb to played on matchdays. Just for stefano, a couple more . . . . .

and the Bacharach composed/arranged/conducted (it's still Herb though) Casino Royale . . . . . .

Nowt wrong with AC/DC or Glee, I likes 'em both.

I guess I'd be happy with most songs just not RnB please. Can't stand the stuff.

get "the farm - altogether now" in there somewhere, in the half time break would probably be best.

Before the game
Vindaloo
Feeling Good
Kids are United
Children
A Banda

Half-time
Don't care, I'm in the pub

After full-time
Don't care, I've gone home

Goal Music
How many times are they going to ask this question. We don't want it. The only person that did, has gone.

I'd revert to A Banda. It's unique. Happy for you to fit Thunderstruck in the playlist somewhere though. Ditch Vindaloo - it's associated with England losing.

For me, the running-out song should always be "Children" by Robert Miles. I was in a pub with Brett and Adders in Southend in 04, and we heard this come over the jukebox, and we knew then that we were going to go up.

great memories. *wipes away small nostalgic tear*

Didn't we used to play 'Children' immediately prior to the teams coming out, with 'A Banda' played as the teams were coming out? I'm sure that's how it used to be, and should be again.

No to goal music. Tacky, American and pointless. Let the fans celebrate spontaniously, not orchestrated by the public address.
