I'm pretty sure there are, Dave.

Hi Dave,
There are plenty left for the Popside at the moment.

Why on earth can we not get more than 3,000 home fans through the door for this one. We have our best chance to beat Argyle in a league match for years and years and we are not up for it. Shameful.
Andrew - it is too late for this game, but is there anyway a partition could be made for the top quarter of the Pop Side so it can be used to house visiting supporters? That way, we can maximise revenue for the club without giving away the entire Pop Side. We could probably utilise this for the Swindon and Bristol Rovers games.
In effect this will happen anyway on Saturday as the Argyle fans in the Pop side will naturally join together near the away end. I personally have no problem with this as long as they are there to watch the football and not look for trouble.

What is our capacity, and how many tickets are left(ish) ?

Hi Enzo
Part of the Stand would have to be cordoned off and heavily stewarded but in theory it would be possible. It would only work in financial terms if the area remaining was large enough to cover the extra costs incurred. This has been done before under a different regime and I seem to remember it not going down well with some of the home fans.
The new capacity for the Popside is around 2050 from memory. I don't recall the actual number of tickets left but anything we can do to get them sold to Torquay fans is an absolute must!
Regards,
Andrew

Communications like this with the fans is brilliant. Well done Andy and long may this continue.
I am one who does not enjoy this segregation and Argyle fans in our area. It is very sad if we cannot get enough home fans to fill this one side (especially with the other stand out of commission). We have just won 4 on the trot and the club deserves better support to show thisI This is a derby after all!!

Why are we all taking the piss out of ourselves and ticket sales before this game has even happened? Plenty of people leave it till the last minute to get tickets, and i'm sure there will be people buying tickets this week. We'll be up for it, no doubt.

All very well in normal circumstances, but we are playing our larger neighbours. Leave it until the last minute and you may well be disappointed. Meanwhile Argyle fans will snap up the tickets.
With the size of Argyle's support and the fact that they are only 20 miles up the road, it is impossible for TUFC to make sure that all Gulls fans get in ahead of Argyle fans - other than use a voucher system and ask TUFC fans to purchase tickets early. They have done this and if we can't be bothered to get tickets then we should expect a fair few greens in home areas.

More like 40 miles down the road, but I agree it's pathetic that this hasn't sold out. No excuses.

Yep, fair point. Although I think Argyle's catchment area could touch as close as Paignton and Newton Abbot.

Spam javelin.
Haven't heard that one for a while.
The ring he was stuck in . . . he wasn't in a rear end collision with Robo Cop was he ?
I can see Alex J Murphy's precise words : "Dead or alive, you're coming with me".

It touches closer that.
Sooner rather than later, it was going to come out so I'll hold my hand up right now:
I'm not currently one, but in past seasons I've been an Argyle grandstand season ticket holder. :slap:
I watched my first game at Home Park on the 5th of October 1968 (the season Argyle came down from the old Second Division into the Third) against Torquay United. It was number 2 in the 20 grounds I've attended, Plainmoor being the first. There were 20,810 there that day and I was on the open terrace in the Barn Park End. The result 2-1 to the Gulls (Jimmy Dunne and Alan Welsh), Fred Molyneux scoring for Argyle.
Argyle team that day : 1.Pat Dunne 2.Mike Reeves 3.Colin Sullivan 4.Bobby Saxton 5.Fred Molyneux 6.Johnny Hore 7.Norman Piper 8.Mike Bickle 9.Danny Trainor 10.Dave Burnside 11.Duncan Neale Sub:Richard Reynolds
I'll clarify now : I was and I still am an Ellacombe born and bred TUFC supporter who played 2 seasons for the TUFC Colts Under 18s youth team between 1971 to 1973. That's another story as is there is no greater privilege/honour than for a local buhy to play at Plainmoor and win honours for his home town club.
Back then in '68, some yoof of the day were skinheads who wore red tag Levi jeans and jackets with the patch(s) of the club they supported sown on above the jacket pocket(s). I was one of them yoof. The thing is, I'm a skin now but not by choice.
So why Argyle ? After that game in October, I thought I want to support these as well. Back in the day, the school kid fashion was to support whoever won the old Division One title/FA Cup/European Honours.
Nothing changes then, does it ? Now you can see where many of the armchair supporters are fashioned from. I was different, I wanted to support a team close enough to home who I could watch on a regular basis.
To this very day I take stick for being a PAFC supporter, especially from Mark Ling who greets me on entry to Boots&Laces with
"GREEN ARMY !"
I've never had a problem with being ambidextrous in the football sense, but other people have.
Look on the bright side (and I thank my lucky stars), the second Football League ground I visited could have been Sid James Park.
Note to Lexus Guy : blame Jenkins because he was the one who took me down there.
