Im happy for the lad, he sounds to be a decent player. Well done to the club aswell to give him untill the end of the season to see what he can offer us over the run in. Hopefully we will see him involved in a few first team games. His set pieces sound deadly.. Mark Ellis for top goal scorer?

Hopefully this will be confimed soon, this is excatly the type of player our club should be looking at, within our price range and the real potential to develop and hopefully be sold on for big money.

Unlike that player from Jarrow roofing whatever his name was, who clearly was a complete lemon.

Excellent news that he's done well enough to earn a deal. Hopefully he'll do well enough to get a longer deal in the summer. On paper he's the perfect signing for a club like us.

I'd still like a defender and another attacker on loan, so he's not rushed.

What do you make of that rumour on the league 2 forum about a defneder coming from Preston?

Edit oops sorry just seen you have put it the rumour mill.

Doesn't this guy also have a job? I'm not convinced he would be joining us just until the end of the season if he has to quit a job - he had to have time off to come on a two week trial with us.

Happy with this (will be happier once it's all confirmed). Another midfield/winger cover..

But he did say in that interview someone posted earlier that if this didn't work out, he'd continue to go out to trials for the next year or so and keep trying his luck, so he must have quite a flexible job arrangement to be making long term plans like that.

We have to give credit to Paul Buckle for O'Kane and for the basis of a good squad (notwithstanding the exodus of players with him to Bristol Rovers) which he bequeathed to Martin Ling, who has since improved the squad and surpassed all our expectations.

Was that not the scout who found him?

John Milton? I thought it was him.

Absolutely right about John Milton whom I omitted to mention and all credit to him as chief scout. But Paul Buckle was Torquay manager at the time and the ultimate responsibilty for signing O'Kane was Buckle's. Whatever anybody's reluctance to give credit to Buckle for anything due to their dislike of him on a personal level, there's no denying the positive things he did for Torquay, and signing O'Kane was one of those things. And wasn't it Buckle who brought Milton to the club?
