imo joe should be restored to the starting line up. he has hopefully had the kick up the arse he deserves for his showing at bristol. there are several reasons why i think this but one in particular is his composure on the ball. danny is somewhat rash and has the hot potato factor. i see he has 2 yellows in 2 games for throwing the ball away which hints at hot headedness too.

If we're dropping people for picking up yellows, we might as well sell Rene now. If we drop DanLed after those two performances, what message does that send to the boy? If Joe wants to play again, he'll need to earn back his place.
Matt.

Have to agree with matt, purely on his two performances Danny Leadbitter apart from the odd rush of blood has done nothing wrong, nothing against Joe Oastler who will at some point return to the team no doubt however Danny deserves a run in the team on his performances so far.

Matt leave him alone, he's a newby. I was one once and you soon put me in my place after i'd kicked off and had a rant ( again!) and threatened you with legal action!
. The funniest thing about that was not the fact i was attempting to take on a legal eagle (which i had no idea about beforehand - massive gaffe on my part me thinks
) but how the hell i would have afforded it as i haven't a pot to p*ss in!
. We welcome new posters novicegull.
Agree with Dave and Matt too though i'm afraid.

Alot of people will probably disagree with me on this one but i have been really disappointed with Oastler this season. Hes had a couple average games nothing stand out and he has had more than his fair share of bad games aswell.. Leadbitter has come in and i dont think hes done amazing but his pace has given him the edge.. defensively he needs to improve imho but not many wingers will get past him with pace which can only be a good thing.. and leadbitter is another attacking outlet.. we have nicholson on the left aswell and now we have two attacking full backs and when our 3 in midfield is much more defensived minded this year than last i'd say it compliments eachother. So keep Leadbitter for the time being, Oastler needs time to get back to where he was at last season.

thanks for the welcome
i stand by my opinion on this one but interested to read others' views. if we all thought the same it'd be a sad old world

Blimey, the new bloke seems to have gathered the point of the internet already. There are some on here (you know who you are) who've been here for years and not managed it. Despite his mangled grammar and dubious team selections, he might not be all bad.
Novice, I'm sure that you're not advocating dropping Danny on the basis of two yellows, but it was amusing to me to make out like you were.
Matt.

"but it was amusing to me to make out like you were" blimey ferrarilover talk about my grammar
as for my team selections perhaps i should throw some light on the matter. i thought danny had a very good game against gillingham and yes i do think he is an ok player with definitely more pace than joe (however i think joe is stronger in other areas) but i personally didn't think he had a very good game on saturday. how he got mom i'll never know !!! based on that game i would restore joe to the starting line up. if danny had done exactly the same throughout the game and we'd LOST then i'm pretty sure the pro danny comments on here would be different. a win does produce the rose coloured spectacles
. similarly if and when joe does come back into the side and has a blinder and we lose then the same people will be calling for his head !!!
as for having two more attacking full backs i would prefer to have less of that and allow mansell and craig the freedom to go forward with the safety of some defence on the wings. i think more goals will come from them.
please feel free to shoot me down in flames :l

Aside from being grotesquely American, there's nothing wrong with the sentence I have constructed.
Damon Lathrope allows Manse/Craig to go forward. I think you're on to a loser here, there's no rose tintedness to my spectacles, Joe hasn't been as good as he was last year (when he was very good) and in the two games since he lost his place, his replacement has done perfectly well enough. I can see absolutely no reason to drop DanLed.
Matt.

I think Daniel L should keep his place. Done nothing wrong, in fact, quite the opposite. By the same token Joe has not done a great deal wrong. he's just not as good as he was last season. He needs a bit of competition in order to up his own game. Nothing wrong with that.

ferrarilover, i didn't join this forum to discuss the ins and outs of grammatical inadequacies !! on the subject of football i have my opinions and stand by them. i respect yours and those of others and i'd like to think you respect mine.
