Torquay United and Barnet would be nice. Although, if Barca and Real want to turn up, I won't object.

Matt.

I think I must be the only person pleased that this one was postponed, was doing a video shoot on Saturday so wouldn't have been able to make it, got a funeral beforehand (seems oddly serendipitous, that), but then THE BIG ONE!!!

I don't want to even think what is going to happen, I remember listening on the radio against Barnet last time (THAT time), hoping against hope now...

Are the singers generally in the 'traditional' center block, or are people going into the away end? (I heard it was opened to us I think...)

To answer Andy's intended question !! I'd go for - Poke/Rice, Ostler, Downes, Saah, Cruise: Jarvis, Mansell, Lathrop; Benyon, Howe, Bodin. Subs: Rice/Connor Thompson, Nicholson, McDonald, Craig, Morris, Yeoman, Macklin (or Niall Thompson). Why? I think it's such a vital game that we have to go for experience (except for left back where quite simply Tom Cruise is playing better than Kevin Nicholson). I believe Barnet are strong in midfield so we must have some battlers to counteract that threat (Mansell and Lathrop). I would include Billy Bodin in the hope that just for one game this season, he will turn up. Any other thoughts?

Cheers Tomo. I'd go with Poke/Rice, Oastler, Downes, Saah, Cruise, Mansell, Easton, Jarvis, Stevens, Howe, Yeoman.

I dispute the experience excuse though Tomo, it's got us nowhere this season and why rely on this 'experience' when all they will likely do is put in another shocker. It's a really difficult one i know as it's such a critical game but we have to gamble now, or we have to gamble at Morecambe, or we have to gamble at home to Brizzle. Whichever way you look at it, we are simply not going to get the desired results by carrying on in the same vein so at some point we are going to have to let the handbrake off, gamble and give it real go and see if it pays off. Harsh and scary but true nonetheless IMO.

Nico is gone in league football terms and Cruise is less likely to get skinned, Saah and Downes pick themselves and Oastler instead of Leadbitter although i'd like to see Daniel brought on if we are really stuggling for pace in attack as he can get something going down that right hand side from defence. Impetus i think they call it.

In midfield, Lathrope in there would be a massive mistake, i've seen nothing much this season that he has anything like recaptured last seasons form and his poor distribution and tendency to get dispossessed and give the ball away will only cause us problems. I'd stick Easton in there as he is industrious, active, busy and energetic and although not creative i feel he can offer the energy in midfield with Mansell dropping off a bit to protect the back four. I'd like to see Stevens come in for a start instead of Bodin as with Stevens we know what we are going to get whereas with Bodin we don't get anything. Stevens is more likely to score too. Jarvis on the other side.

Up front i'd go with Howe simply because on his day he is by far and away our best attacker and it's up to him what sort of performance we're going to get. Who can guess because i can't. Pick him and hope for the best as it's all we have. I'd drop Benners as his scoring record since he arrived from Southend is negligible, his workrate has been great though but i'd just go with Yeoman to partner Howe and trust he can deal with the pressure and offer us something extra. If not then bring on Benners and see what happens.

I'd like to see Morris come off the bench if we aren't creating, not sure if he is up to speed yet though for such a massive game although he has experience. I'd like Niall and Lloyd to feature at some point and i'd also like Knill to use his subs properly and in plenty of time, not about 20 minutes after the rest of us fans can see it needs shuffling. Too little too late.

We've got no Labadie and no Chappell and without Labadie at least our scoring record is appalling so it's sh*t or bust, gamble and we might just catch them out. Rely on experience and keep things tight and we might end up getting stuffed again. It's a mightily difficult one for Knill to juggle but taking the gamble is just my opinion. I just think that in at least one of these last 3 games we ARE going to have to throw caution to the wind because we simply aren't going to win 2 games playing like we have done pre-Joss.

Don't want to be negative Rich but if he scores i'll send you a tenner and if he plays anything remotely resembling a potent, up and coming, talented creative attacker for more than a few minutes in the game then i'll send you a fiver. If he gets a hat trick i'll write a 1000 word eulogy on here as to why i love Billy Bodin and how i've been so wrong about him and how much of a knob i've been AND send you a tenner.

If Bodin plays we effectively have 10 men and one less that can score on the field of play, that's not another dig, it's what i've been saying all season and with the biggest game of the season looming i am expected to believe he is suddenly going to save us. If TUFC have to rely on Billy Bodin for this game then we can officially give up now. He won't score or affect the game, he will dip in and out, run about like a headless chicken, miss a couple of easy chances that we all so to God wished had fallen to someone else and he'll get taken off after 70 having had no impact. I'll have a tenner with anyone now that is what is will happen, and in the meanwhile why he is trying to 'discover' his form at this crucial stage, the other 9 outfield men in yellow are thundring into tackles and donating blood plasma for the cause. Well 8 then, i forgot about Rene.

I'm sorry but if we are to stay up then Bodin needs to be as far away from a pair of football boots as possible. This is not a personal attack at the lad it's what i see, we need something that he hasn't got or is highly likely not to show it even if he has got it so i'd rather go with someone else. Beating Barnet is all i care about, not whether i'm being unsympathetic to a young lad who has had a season on full pay to show us what he promises to deliver. Not a sausage i'm afraid, forget Bodin and go with Stevens, he isn't my favourite and when i first joined this forum you could argue i had a similar problem with him like i do with Bodin now. I've seen Danny improve year on year and although he is still a lower than average league 2 player i'd still have him in the side ahead of Bodin every time. He can score goals.

Just also heard that Pokey is fit which is great news although i'm not jumping for joy. All they need to is leave a few elbows in on corners, unsettle him a bit and get him nervous, that said i'd take a nearly fit Poke against a nearly fit Rice.

Cue Barnet protests now about us postponing the game just so our keeper would be available!

Great news. We are now back to playing a fully fit side that has won games already this season. Granted, we're not as strong as the side which contained Labadie and Chappel, but this is still the same group of players who smashed Rochdale, Accrington at home and beat Gillingham amongst others. Wasn't impressed by Barnet at all at their place, so a little more confident now.

Most amusing thing about that article is I read through it and my first reaction was "Sh*t, Danny Stevens - I'd forgotten about him!". Shows how much of a dismal season he's had.
