:)

As for the Crawley forum, I've tried looking in the past but I can't be bothered to sign up for it.

Firstly, don't bother signing up to the Crawley forum, it's full of nothing but self congratulatory nonsense about how they're epic and this is a tin pot league and they're a Championship club and always have been etc. They're on about needing to drop a cool million to have any chance in L1 next year, as if even the Sheffield giants have spent that sort of money. They have even less sense of reality and perspective than their club, not one of them can remember 10 years ago when Cheaty attracted crowds of 300 people playing in the Evo-Stik second division, fecking Jonny-come-latelies. Equally, they all seem deeply impressed to have sold all of 300 tickets for their game tomorrow, still, that is 25% of their home gate, so I suppose they have a point to some extent, not like it's the biggest game in their history or anything ...

As for the Accrington bloke (I'll definitely get banned for this, despite it being reported openly on the BBC website), Mr Khan is an odd sort. He had a rock thrown at him recently and the thrower shouted out "you paki bastard". He then comes out and says that he loves the town and the club. How is that possible? Is it some odd, footballing version of Stockholm Syndrome?
For a start, we have to assume that Accrington, being a truly horrid, grim, northern hovel full of p*ss poor northerners who eat coal and die of consumption aged 22, is probably a pretty tough place to 'love' even if you aren't racially and ethnically abused at every turn. Secondly, it must be even harder to 'love' the football club. Not only is it based in the aforementioned town, but they haven't got any fans, they have no history (being the butt of a terrible 70s joke is NOT history, its embarrassing), their ground is like a wart on the arsehole of the country, their pitch resembles the Somme, they don't so much play football as a game of 'who can hack the ball furthest before it gets stuck in the mud', and they're not even very good at that.

All in all, a damning assessment.

EXCITING NEWS!

Just iPlayered 'Pointless'. The category was 'United' football teams. Torquay was offered and scored 8. The only pointless answer (scoring 0) was...

You guessed it, Hereford United. That's definitely a sign from God.

Also the category in the final was Lib Dem MPs. Torbay has a Lib Dem MP (OK, I'm clutching at straws now)...

Hopefully it doesn't mean we'll be 'pointless' at 4:45 tomorrow afternoon though...

Bloody hell... haven't been this nervous about a football game since Barnet - 11 years ago to the day!

And once again, a win for the Gulls will be sending our hosts down to the Conference.

Funny ol' game this football lark. Right... fry-up on the go.... fuel tank full.... tickets in glovebox (I actually put them in there yesterday so I wouldn't forget 'em - yes, I've done that before!)

Sat Nav set for somewhere near Wales.

Good luck lads.... :scarf:

Gutted I cant be at the Hereford game today but I know they will do it. Howe is going to do the business and get us a goal and crawley are going to draw 1-1. Mark my words!

All that are going have a great day and a safe journey. Sing yourselves hoarse. All we can ask is that we do our job and if its not enough then so be it. We have had chances in last few weeks but not taken advantage. YELLOW ARMY!!!!

I watched that yesterday, and the first thought that came into my mind was "that's an omen".

Just like the last time we were in this situation, in 2004 when driving down to Southend I saw a dead terrier on the hard shoulder (I'm not joking!) and also thought "that's an omen"

Believe!

Good luck to the team and all the fans whether you're going or, like me, will be on the board this afternoon!

I'd like to write more, but I've got the hand equivalent of a lump stuck in my throat! :~D

Cheers

A nice omen, but I'm more worried by the fact you feel the need to watch Pointless at 4 in the morning!!!

home for me too, i'll be on player as usual, nervous, too nervous to drive to hereford and watch the match without a couple settlers!!

hopeful of a win, but less hopeful that accrington, bloody accrington, will help us out?

remembering those great great days at barnet and southend, and worrying about the lame trip to colchester

barnet our future was in our own hands, as it would have been but for last weekends late late show, and southend where it was a true rollercoaster as the score from huddersfields game came in and we were promoted!!

good luck torquay, and have a great day all of you that make the journey

yellow army!!
